Within the time that Darcy's been in Aliunde-- which is just over six months-- she'd gotten to meet Thor's brother, Loki. She quickly became close to them. And they treated her like a younger sibling. Darcy is over the moon for her 'adopted' brothers and enjoys the fact that she's gotten to know Thor better, since the whole 'hit him with a car and tased him' shenanigans. She cares deeply for Loki, sticking up for him when others might not. She's gotten several jobs, met quite a few people, and spent a shitton of money on music. But that's nothing out of the ordinary.
In Aliunde, she met a cop from Ystad, Sweden by the name of Magnus Martinsson who looked a crazy amount like Loki. Which led to mistaken identity shenanigans and Darcy buying him a stuffed animal as an apology. A friendship soon blossomed from the mistake and then something deeper. Much deeper. Like "I enjoy seeing you naked" deeper. She cares so much for him, that she'd rather stay in Aliunde than go home. She'd rather not risk the chance that she'd never get to see him again.
