Ok. So,
dental torture aside, it's been a pretty nice week.
I kicked the week off spending some very relaxed time with
paeyl. We had a two hour lunch at
Junoon, including a really fantastic tamarind chutney. And we had a really great day all around. I have finally met Ellen, and she is everything
paeyl says she is.
Post-dental-torture, Steve really went all out to feed me easy things for me to eat. One thing I like about Guys(tm): his main concern was how to still feed me red meat. He braised lamb shanks on wednesday and made pot roast on thursday. Both meals were excellent in both flavor and lack of need for chewing. He should have got that dutch oven years ago! Friday he took it a bit easy and we just had pasta al oglio (although he did make some kind of braided bread (that was different from the hala bread he made sunday night (with the chicken Provence))).
I saw several friends for lunch over the week, got my hair re-dyed, had a nice date on thursday, and I've been playing Baldur's Gate II: Shadow of Amn in the evenings. Yesterday, Steve and I took a walk out on the Baylands trails and found a new kind of jumping spider. I'll have pictures up sometime soon. So, a nice week.
Oh, and I don't think I've mentioned it here on LJ; but I had a really great time with Richard B, Dorit, and Keith last weekend. We went over to their place and they made a really delicious dinner including grilled salmon and avocado and grapefruit salad, amongst other tasty things. Afterwards, they came to our place and we all watch
The Big Lebowski. We did not stay up talking all night, like the last time Keith and Richard were over due to some plans folks had for sunday morning. But, it was a really nice evening with a lot of great chatting nonetheless.
