So, here we have two pictures in very similar poses. One -- with the hat -- was taken two days before my surgery. The other one is from mid-January, after all visible swelling was gone. Funny thing is, based on the bangs in the hat picture and the earrings in the other, I believe these are both pictures of the left side of my face. Click on them for larger versions.
You can see the difference in the chin is pronounced, but not radical.
I am still wearing braces. The last two times I've been to the orthodontist he's told me "a couple more months". I'm not really sweating it; but, it is kind of funny. And, of course, I assume that there will be a retainer for some months after that.
There are still parts of my face and mouth that haven't really reconnected with my nervous system yet. They check in, occasionally, in sharply focused points of pain that last for several minutes. The tip of my chin is still that numb tingly sensation. There's a spot on the left side of my chin which, even when brushed lightly, is giving some kind of weird transference effect. Any kind of touch there produces sharp nerve pain in my bottom left canine. This is ... odd.
