SG: A (reactionary spoilers)

Oh my God, if I did not love McKay before tonight, this week would have SEALED THE DEAL. Oh yes.

(Sidebar: I didn't always like McKay, because I saw "48 Hours" and both parts of "Redemption", and I'm sort of conditioned not to like people who would, you know, condemn Teal'c to death. But he didn't automatically assume Carter was the smartest person in the room - of course not; *he* is - and I always felt bad that he ended up in freaking *Russia*. But somewhere around the whole "wanted to be a concert pianist" thing, I started liking the guy. About seven minutes into "Rising", I decided that I, you know, loved him. And it totally doesn't hurt that he's snarky and full of himself and Canadian, three things that I am genetically conditioned to love.)

Granted, it's entirely possible that my opinion is conditioned by how quickly my day's gone downhill in the last few hours, but I started cheering as soon as he started questioning just what the hell Chaya was, and it didn't actually abate until act one of BSG.

Don't get me wrong; I love Sheppard. I love him and his non-ass, and his deceptive clever sense of snark, and the fact that he's good at math (MATH! Normally that's not a thing for me, but I can learn to love). But you don't make assumptions on *feelings*, especially not if you're in the *military*. Yes, she's pretty; yes, she's wise and has a connection to the wind or whatever. That is not a basis for totally not listening to the advice of your senior science officer, who kind of knows what he's talking about.

Lenore Valera did a good job; a very good job, actually. *Everyone* did. And you can tell, because normally I don't want to punch Sheppard. Tonight? Yeah, a little bit.

Also, John? You totally need to get working on kissing up to Rodney, because that is NOT how you treat your BRAINY CANADIAN SCIENTIST BOYFRIEND OMG.
