Everything is grey. They only differed in shades in order to distinguish themselves from one another.

She buries her feet in the cool sand and watches the calm caresses of the waves on the shore. The seagulls sing their songs from above. She contemplates in the silence and solitude this piece of the world offers.

And be nothing.

She wishes the salty wind pass through her and cleanse her ill soul.

She wishes the waves to engulf her and purify her from all the sins she had committed.

They were no big evils. She killed nobody else but herself, drowning herself from the mundane everything that offered her nothing, believing that it was an essential for her happiness.

But she finds herself unhappy in the world she believed to be happy and wishing to drown herself in the vastness of the grey sea instead.

“Wait.”

A hand grabs her upper arm tightly. She is in the water, with a quarter of her body underneath. She tries to feel around, what could have been her next step. Her foot feels no sand.

The sun is almost setting. Even in the grey vastness of the sky, it still leaves a hint of color, telling the world of its slow departure.

Her fear awakens. She turns around and crashes in to his chest. Her tears are indistinguishable from the saltwater clinging on his shirt. He leads her back to shore.
