It would have been their fifth anniversary today - if only it had not been ripped off out of them.
They used to spend the night together, just being in each other’s arms. Or they would dance. Sway to a song, their song, the one played when they gave their vows to be together for the rest of their lives. The sound of the violin accompanied by the flute softly floated in the air, surrounding them, wrapping them up gently.
But he is no longer here. The angels have taken him away.
The song’s still playing. The music’s still on. But there’s no one with him anymore, and he wraps his arms around himself. He closes his eyes and sways as if - as if he were still there. With him.
A drop of tears slowly rolls down Elijah’s cheek.
