This is so very sad. Poor Sam had a lot to get over once the quest was done, too. And then it must have been hard for him to adjust to Frodo's leaving.

I never read this since I didn't friend you until several years later.

I'm not sure if I posted at my journal or not, or just at ffnet and storiesofarda. :)

Thank you, my dear. I guess it's very hard to be left behind by the person you're very close to and with all those memories. :(

Oh this was beautiful but so sad. I wonder...what DID happen to Bag End? I have always hoped that Sam would have moved his large family in there.

I'm not sure but it's true that Sam and his family live in Bag Shot Row, right? Sorry, but my canon is sometimes blurred. :)

But yeah, who should occupy Bag End. Is it Pippin?

Thank you so much, my dear. *snuggles*

Lavendertook reminded me that Sam, Rosie and the kids lived with Frodo during the last to take care of him and they continued on to live there. That made me feel better since I didn't want Bag End to be empty. I sadly, haven't read the books for awhile and need to get back into that. I sometimes forget what's canon and whats AU because of it.

In the books, Sam, Rosie, and Elanor had been living in Bag End with Frodo, so they go on living there, and Sam and Rosie's second child, Frodo Gardner, who looks like Sam, inherits it.

I don't know why PJ chose to not have them living in Bag End yet at the end of RotK. Maybe he thought he couldn't show Sam and Rosie living there without explanation that they had moved in with Frodo and he didin't want to take time to include that explanation. Or maybe the garden at the Bag End set wasn't looking good when they needed to film the scene, so they went with the yellow doored smial instead. That's a question I'd like to hear PJ answer sometime.

This is so beautiful, Shinta. This broke my heart:

What was the use of Bag End with all its luxuries if it was forsaken by its main source of light and bliss?

I'm so glad that Sam was able to follow Frodo and be united with him again. *sniffs*

I wasn't in fandom back then, so I never read this. It's so sad and poignant. I can't imagine how hard it must have been for Sam. *weeps*
