This is not even remotely about politics

And, like, wow, I've not posted on LJ since I was going off about the riots.

I know I've got comments to reply to, so don't be surprised if you get a reply to something you'd forgotten you'd left somewhere on my LJ ages ago.

I've been reading lots of fic - Suits and The Social Network (The Social Network is all thisissirius's fault, damn her). Kinkmeme's are the best, the best, I tell you.

I'm going to do a separate post with fic recs because I feel like it.

As well as all that fic, I've watched season one of Homicide: Life on the Street, which is freaking awesome. Now I'm watching season one of Deadwood. SO MANY people I recognise in both shows. It's great fun.

And, naturally, I've been keeping up with all the summer TV.

I've been loving this season so far. But the hits do keep on coming for the team, though, don't they?

The episode where Ed found out about Wordy was amazing and kind of heartbreaking. All I can say is Wordy better come back, if only for one episode because I miss him.

I like the new guy, Rafi, though, so that's cool.

And then there was the most recent episode, which was definitely Spike's episode and it was awesome. The phone call with his mum to tell him about the clot was heartbreaking and the look on Greg's face killed me.

I loved Spike's stories of his childhood and the way he bonded with the bomb-maker with them.

Ed hugging him as he came out of the shaft was adorable.

And I was totally crying at the end. God, Spike. Spike's dad. Spike's mum. Totally killed me.

Okay, so I'm still a bit pissed that the team didn't seem to be worried about the fact that Eliot got actually hurt a couple of weeks ago.

Nate/Sophie is kind of boring me but I'm not actively hating it.

Parker and Hardison continue to be adorable and Parker talking Hardison through breathing while trapped in the coffin and then the kiss he gave her at the end. Be still mt beating heart. They are the cutest.

I'm not feeling it this season, I have to say. I really only thought the summer finale was any good. It was certainly the first episode that actually kept me interested all the way through. Although, having said that, I did enjoy the one with Duck from Mad Men in it.

I'm already bored of Jay this season. If Annie's kind of boyfriend (Ben?) could never come back that would be great.

The best part of the show is still the interaction between Auggie and Annie.

I want Jamie Alexander's character to come back. She was kind of cool.

Combat Hospital is a completely popcorn show, but I'm kind of loving it.

Well, I'm not hating it as much as last season, which I thought was awful.

Amnesia!Eric is adorable. I will never not find him saying sorry for killing Claudine hilarious.

Tara was doing surprisingly okay before she decided to help the witch. I just want to bitch-slap her for being such a fucking moron.

Now that Bill is spending no time with Sookie, I'm not finding him half bad. It's not like I like him all of a sudden, but I'm actually finding him interesting as opposed to an annoying little shit. It's refreshing.

Pam is rotting. I have no idea how they are going to solve that, but since I know they'd be crazy to kill Pam, she's going to get cured by the end of the season.

Sam is being a shit. I really don't like him. At all. It doesn't help that in the books Sam was calm ans steady and Sookie's support and here he just. Isn't. If changing Sam up had been done well, that would have been one thing, but it hasn't. I just find myself missing book!Sam. Although the moment when he realised that Tommy had had sex with his girl while looking like Sam and was therefore a skinwalker, was hilarious.

I also find myself in the strange position of feeling sorry for Debbie. Unlike in the books, here, she's trying. She's cleaned up her act and is trying so hard. But Alcide is, well, he's being a bit of a dick. I honestly don't blame her for being pissed with him for going to look for Sookie.

At least I'm interested in seeing where a good number of these story lines go this season. It's definitely an improvement on last year. Especially now they've not got the fucking fey around anymore. I hope they keep it that way.

I'm truly curious as to how Neal is going to save El, get the treasure to Ross/not give the treasure to Ross and not have Peter hate him.

Obviously Mozzie will be back as soon as he hears that El is in trouble.
