Summer is coming

Yeah, this is getting a bit depressing now. While I didn't find this episode quite as dire as last weeks - at least there was no Ben in it (god, boring boyfriend is called Ben, right?). But, even so, it still wasn't that good.

Joan being on jury duty was just ridiculous. I like the idea of Auggie being in charge and having to learn how to make the tough decisions, but that was just so contrived.

And really, when are the CIA going to give Annie something more than her wits and good looks to help her? Wit the number of times she gets into trouble, can she not be weapons approved yet?

I still can't see any reason why Jay is still there.

Auggie is still the best thing in this show.

So, in many ways I really enjoyed this episode. Peter geeking out about a treasure hunt was adorable. Elizabeth indulging him was brilliant. And Neal knowing exactly how to tempt Peter was just precious.

But, and here's the thing, I'm still not getting the whole Neal wants to leave thing. It just seems to weird to me. Neal didn't want to leave at the beginning of season one when he hardly knew Peter, Elizabeth and the rest of the team. So I'm now supposed to believe that he wants to leave now. With no obvious reason? If there was something going on; some reason why Neal felt he had to go, that'd be fine. But there doesn't seem to be. Or at least, Neal isn't acting as though there is something that's worrying him.

And suddenly he doesn't seem to care that he'd be leaving all these people he's been making connections with over the last couple of years. At the end of season one, Neal couldn't say bye to Peter because Peter was the one person who could change his mind. That doesn't seem to be the case here and I find that weird.

Unless Neal is a sociopath - or, you know, something of that ilk - I can't think of a reason why he doesn't seem to think about how his actions would affect those around him. And yes, okay, so he's on the fence about creating another identity and all that, but, unlike during season one, the idea of leaving doesn't seem to be bothering Neal.

It just seems like such a character 180 that I'm not sure I'll properly be able to enjoy an episode until there is an explanation.

Also, doesn't the fact that Neal Caffrey is an alias and that he's creating another one seem to disagree with what we learnt in the Neal origin story - unless that was, in itself, a Neal half truth? I might actually end up liking that episode if it ends up being a bluff.

Not even remotely surprised that Neal was able to get the necessary info from the rookie art agent. A part of me does wonder why on earth Peter didn't show her a photo of Neal and explain the bare essentials of who Neal is because it's not like Peter hasn't seen/watched Neal charm info out of people who really should know better. Unless it's a set up but I think I might be finding too many conspiracy theories here.

I'm definitely looking forward to how the season progresses.

You know, I was all upset last week when Ned was killed but I'd forgotten that this week would have the reactions of the Stark's as they watched/found out. The one that made me out and out cry was Bran finding out. It was the way Maester Luwin says his name. God, but that was a kick to the gut. And Yoren protecting Arya made me want to hug him. And Cat keeping her face frozen until she got to the tree line killed me and then there was Robb attacking the tree. God, but that killed me.

Sansa standing up to Joff made me cheer her so much. And finally they are bringing in the Hound and his weird...something with Sansa.

Sam standing up to Jon made me cheer and him and the others reciting the oath to him make me love them.

Arya threatening Hot Pie was hilarious. And seeing the three in the cart made me all excited for season two.

I was really impressed with how they did Drogo's death and the birth of the dragons. I had been wondering about how they were going to do that all season.

I'm enjoying both Dany as a character and her story more in the tv show than in the book and I'm hoping that they'll make the parts of Dany's story that I'm not all that bothered about more interesting and make me care.

I really liked the conversation between Tyrion and Tywin. Peter Dinklage was awesome. And Charles Dance wasn't bad either.

Can't wait for next season to come around.

Burn Notice is back in 2 days time. Leverage starts back on Sunday.

I still need to catch up on the last few episodes of In Plain Sight.

So, Jim Butcher has put up the first few chapters of Ghost Story. Only, what? Over a month to go? It's going to be a long month, I can tell you.

Holy crap. We meet Murphy's dad. Awesome.

And of course Harry has to go and investigate his own murder. Boy never catches a break, does he?
