Gakked from
janne_d. Like her, I'll never remember to do one a day, so I'm doing the whole thing now.
Plus, I get to talk about Buffy. I can't wait 30 days to do that.
Day 1: Favorite Season
My answer to this question changes every time I'm asked it. Seriously, every time. I don't think there is a season of Buffy that I hated. But my favourite? Probably either season two or three. While the majority of my favourite episodes probably come from the later seasons, as a whole seasons two and three are the ones I think were the most consistant and mindblowing.
But between the two? Well, in season two you have the whole Angelus arc, Spike, Jenny and Cordy and Xander getting together and the introduction of Oz.
In season three you have, Faith, the Mayor, Willow coming more into her own and Angel and Buffy growing up, the introduction of Anya and the end of high school.
How does one chose?
But, probably because it made me cry more, season two is my favourite.
Day 2: Favorite Episode
Okay, so I seriously can't do a favourite episode. For simplicity's sake, I usually say Once More With Feeling, but the truth is much more complicated than that. I have a favourite episode for each season. It's the only way I can stay sane.
Season One: Prophacy Girl
Season Two: Passion
Season Three: Choices
Season Four: Who Are You
Season Five: Family
Season Six: Two To Go
Season Seven: Lies My Parents Told Me
Day 3: Favorite Song Used In An Episode:
It's the one in the pilot where Darla, Thomas and assorted vamps are walking up to The Bronze.
Day 4: Favorite Female Character:
Seasons 1-3: Willow
Seasons 4-6: Tara
Season 7: Willow
Day 5: Least Favorite Female Character:
The potential slayer, Molly. It was that AWFUL fake, cockney accent. If I could have clawed out my eardrums, I would have done.
I hated Kennedy, too. I just. It was the whole being a brat, and knowing you're a brat and railroading someone into a relationship with you is supposed to be cute. And it's not.
Day 6: Favorite Male Character:
Giles. Don't get me wrong, Angel and Spike are awesome, but I will forever love the father/daughter relationship between Buffy and Giles and how he became something of a father figure to Willow and Xander, too.
Day 7: Least Favorite Male Character:
Hank Summers. Do I even need to say why?
Day 8: Favorite Friendship:
Willow, Buffy and Xander. I loved how they were always there for each other, even when they were angry with each other. I loved how it was so often their friendship that saved the world and that support group that saved Buffy's life time and time again.
One of my favourite moments in the entire series is when they reconnect at the end of season four as they break into the Initiative after a season of growing apart.
Day 9: Favorite Romance:
It's a totally toss up between Willow and Oz and Willow and Tara. Both were adorable. Both broke my heart when they broke up and both made me cry.
Day 10: Least Favorite Season:
It's probably a toss up between seasons six and seven. There are individual episodes in each season that will always be listed as favourites of mine, but, at the same time, season six was damn depressing and season seven was rather weak for a season dealing with the end of the world thanks to the First.
Day 11: Least Favorite Romance:
Willow and Kennedy. Without a shadow of a doubt. Just. Ugh.
Day 12: Least Favorite Episode:
I was going to say Doublemeat Palace, but then I remembered Season seven's Him, which was frankly silly and didn't have many redeeming features.
Day 13: Favorite Potential Slayer:
Vi. I loved Vi. She was amazing. I particularly liked her grin of glee when she got her slayer powers.
Day 14: Favorite Female Villain:
Dru. She was crazier than a crazy thing and I loved her.
I would have said Faith, but I never saw Faith as a villain. Just a very messed up girl, who had been kicked so many times that she couldn't accept help offered to her, but at the same time craved acceptance and love. When Faith breaks down in Angel I cry every time.
Day 15: Favorite Male Villain:
The Mayor. He was just so darn cheerful. And I will always love his checklist that had 'become immortal' on it. How can you not love a villain like that?
Day 16: Episode You Like That Everyone Else Hates:
I don't think everyone hated it, but I do remember that Restless divided everyone. You either loved it or hated it. I, as you probably guessed, loved it.
Day 17: Character You Relate To The Most
Probably Willow.
Day 18: Character Who Didn’t Get Enough Screen Time:
Day 19: Character You Like That Everyone Else Hates:
Riley and Dawn. I never understood the hatred of them.
I always liked Riley and while what he did with the vamps was stupid, I could understand it in a way.
And am I the only one who liked the way Joss introduced Dawn and what she was? While some of it was sloppy and not thought out, I still liked it.
Day 20: Best Spike-centric Episode:
As much as I love Lies My parents Told Me, I think I have to go with Fool For Love.
Day 21: Best Willow-centric Episode:
I think Choices. Willow acted independently to free herself. The pen(cil) is mighter than the sword. She stood up to Faith and managed to get what was needed to give Giles a clue as to what the mayor was planning. And she decided to stay in Sunnydale to keep fighting.
Day 22: Best Xander-centric Episode:
I always remember The Pack fondly *g*
Day 23: Two Characters You Wanted To Get Together That Never Did:
I was always really rather happy with the choices that Joss and Co made.
Day 24: Favorite Example of 90s Special Effects:
God, that werewolf. So bad.
Day 25: Favorite Buffyverse Saying:
Well, the two I use horribly often are:-
'Could you vague that up for me?' and 'Well, aren't you the font of nothing.'
Day 26: Favorite Scooby Moment:
I think it's in Family when Tara's family comes to get her and, well, this happens:-
Buffy: You want her, Mr. Maclay? You can go ahead and take her. You've just got to go through me.
Mr. Maclay: What?
Buffy: You heard me. You want to take Tara out of here against her will, you've got to come through me.
Dawn: And me!
Mr. Maclay: Is this a joke? I'm not going to be threatened by two little girls.
Dawn: You don't want to mess with us.
Buffy: (indicating Dawn) She's a hair-puller.
Giles: And you're not just dealing with two little girls.
Xander: You're dealing with all of us.
Spike: Except me.
Xander: Except Spike
Spike: I don't care what happens.
Mr. Maclay: This is insane. You people have no right to interfere with Tara's affairs. We are her blood kin! Who the hell are you?
Buffy: We're family.
Day 27: Cutest Moment:
There are SOOOOOOO many. But possibly Oz tells Willow he doesn't want to make out with her when it's obvious she wants to make Xander jealous. When it happens he wants it to be all about them.
Day 28: Character You Love To Hate:
The Mayor.
Day 29: Episode You Hate That Everyone Else Loves:
I'm not really aware of one.
Day 30: What You Think Made Buffy So Great:
Um. god. Everything. I've written a disertation on this. Literally.
The character arcs. the character continuity. The metaphors for life. The dialogue. God, the dialogue.
The creation of the Joss!verse and the way the fans follow the actors to ANY show. The way fans were just as interested, if not more, in the writers and directors. I mean, who isn't paying attention to their careers? How many writers and directors names do I recognise on SO MANY OTHER SHOWS that I first came across in Buffy?
