Dr Who

Last night I watched The Time of Angels and Flesh and Stone. Way, way back in March I kind of stopped watching Dr Who because they kept changing the damn time and I was often at work or I was off seeing friends. Despite downloading all the episodes, I never actually watched them either.

However, before delving back into the Weeping Angels, I decided to re-watch Blink and it is still bloody marvellous.

Sally Sparrow is still awesome and brilliant and a character I would have been more than happy to see back.

It's an episode that completely holds together even once you know what's going to happen, or, if it doesn't, I've not noticed any major ass plot holes.

And the Doctor doing the whole 'and whatever you do, don't blink' speech still gives me shivers.

So, yeah, I watched that and then went straight into 504 and 505 of Eleven and Amy.

I honestly can't remember the reaction of everyone back in March/April, but I loved it.

Amy and River Song gossiping about the Dr when he can totally hear them was hilarious.

The Angel on the recording was really quite creepy, and I can honestly say that if I'd been Amy I would not have leaned in close to the screen and when she asked River if they only had one bit of recording, I wouldn't have gone inside, I would said something along the lines of 'that's weird because it's now moving'.

Although, having said that, the fact that she figured out how to get rid of the Angel herself made me cheer her. And the Dr and River Song bursting in once she's okay. Well, you know, okay except for the whole Angel in her eye thing.

The realisation that all the statues are Angels was wonderfully done and god, just a little terrifying. Thank god they weren't fully charged, although I will admit that the half-eroded Angels moving were very freaky - possibly even more so than the fully formed ones.

I liked how they showed how on a level the Dr and River Song are.

The Dr talking to Angel Bob was both heartbreaking and hilarious. Comfy chairs, indeed.

And Angel Bob apologising for the confusion of the Dr not realising that he was dead, too, was kind of adorable.

The way Karen played Amy's vulnerability when Amy couldn't see was amazing and yay River Song for fixing the transporter.

I loved the sound effect that went with the Dr realising that time was being unwritten.

Poor Angels, not realising that by draining the energy, they were going to make gravity fail and then fall into the time crack. Whoops.

The bit where Amy kind of jumped the Dr was a bit surprising and hilarious. I'm really quite looking forward to that being resolved. Until I know otherwise, I'm going to assume that she's just freaked about getting married.

And now I'm going to watch Vampire's in Venice. RORY!!!!!

One thing I will say is that, listening to the music for Nine and Ten and then the music for Eleven, I much prefer the music from Nine and Ten. The music is about the only thing that I don't love about the SM era of DW.
