As predicted, Friday Night Lights did make me cry
Julie, Matt and Tim did their damn best to make me cry and boy did they succeed. Espeically that Tim Riggins.
Things that made me laugh/happy
01) Things with Tami getting sorted out. I'm stupidly happy that she's going to be going to East Dillion with Eric and Julie. I'd spent the last three episodes terrified about what was going to happen to her. Because, while I don't agree with abortion, Tami did nothing wrong, nothing even approaching wrongness and my god, can you say witch hunt?
02) Having Matt back made me realise just how much I was missing him. The bit where he and Julie were going round the supermaket shopping for Thanksgiving was hilarious and adorable.
03) Matt calling where Julie lost her virginity to him their special place and Julie teasing him for it.
04) How cute was Matt with Gracie?
05) Did anyone else notice how Coach actually called Landry, Landry when calling him up for the big kick? It kind of made me melt.
06) The fact that the Taylors thanksgiving includes the Saracans, Collettes and Riggins. It made me grin like a big, dumb thing.
07) Billy and Mindy lying on the bed, playing with Noah. So cute.
08) Coach talking to Vince and having utter conviction in him. Actually, Coach having utter conviction in the entire team was pretty awesome, too.
09) The Lions won. The Lions freaking WON!!!
Okay, so it would have been a bit weird if the writers hadn't had the Lions win, but I was so bloody nervous about the game. It was a fictional game and I think I was more worried about it than most real sports games I've watched. I was hugging a cushion. Seriously.
Take that, Joe McCoy. How much are you wishing you'd kept Eric and let him run the team the way he wanted to? Huh?
10) Matt taking Landry with him to Chicago. And the look on Landry's face when Matt said he'd take grandma was hilarious.
Things that made me cry/feel sad
1) I felt gutted for Landry. Totally gutted. It was obviously going to happen but I felt so sorry for him. Although Matt calling him a girl was frankly hilarious.
2) Julie and Matt breaking up. I adore them together. Julie talking about how if she went to Chicago she'd fall in love with it and Matt's place and she'd never follow her dreams was heartbreaking. A part of my really hopes they make it work once Julie is past university.
It's Tim Riggins from here on out...
3) Tim going and seeing Becky and asking her to still be his friend, to give him another chance and to go and see his family if she ever needs help
4) Tim watching Billy, Mindy and Noah from the door. It was kind of heartbreaking.
5) Tim telling Billy what he was going to do and Billy breaking down and Tim's voice catching. I'm kind of welling up here, just thinking about it again.
6) Tim walking towards the sheriff's station and Billy leaning against the truck, watching him. Billy's going to watch over both his truck and dog, right?
Things that I missed
1) Seeing as everyone obviously knew about Billy and Tim being arrested, I would loved a conversation (or exchange of looks, really) between Coach and Tim. I love the father/son relationship those two have and one of my squee-worthy moments this season was Eric asking Tim to help him with the team. For those two to have had a moment about Tim's situation would have made the episode perfect, in my eyes.
2) A part of me would have loved it if Tim had been at the same table as Julie and Matt.
3) Tim and Julie acknowledging that they knew each other. Same, actually for Matt and Tim.
How long do I have to wait for season 5?
Oh, and am I right in thinking there wasn't an episode of Numb3rs last night?
