Banging my head against a brick wall
Before I get all serious I just have to say this - my friend has this as her tag on MSN
War is God's way of teaching Americans geography.
Can I just say hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe.
Now for my rant - and it's a big one. I've just spent the past 30 minutes practically screaming at the TV about all the stupidity surrounding Lebonon, London flights, war on terror.
You have to admit that, it pushed, you'd say the war in Lebonon was more of a victory for Hezbollah (spelt wrong - sorry) than Israel.
The thing that gets me is that Israel and the US seem surprised that Israel didn't win. ONe word. Vietnam. Vietnam showed how you can't beat gureilla warfare with conventional warfare. It doesn't work. Somehow America and Israel forget this salient point.
The other thing that gets me about the Lebonon thing is that America and Israel are just giving those in Lebonon and Arabs in general a good reason to hate the West and support those like Hezbollah - something most of them didn't do BEFORE the conflict. All they have done is make heroes and martyrs of a bunch of terrorists. Obviously a well thought out plan there.
The War on Terror is REALLY beginning to bug me. I don't care what the politicans say, they are really making it the West v. Islam. That is not the way to do it. All that does it convince any Muslims who might be feeling unhappy that extremism is the way to go.
Surely the war on Terror should be against ALL types of terror - not just those of Islam. There are, believe it or not there are white terrorists too. People seem to have forgotten that. Last I looked the IRA weren't a bunch of Muslims - perhaps I was wrong.
I feel like the governments of the West have blinkers on and just aren't being intelligent at all.
I'm watching Newsnight. The lady from the Manhattan Institute is possibly one of the most offensive women I've ever heard talking.
She was essentially saying that Asians should be targetted and detained at airports because they fit the profile of being terrorists. How fucking offensive. She seemed to be unable to comprehend that terorrists could be anything other than Islamic or that they could look anything other than Arab in appearance.
However, as the most senior Muslim Police officer (who's name I've forgotten but who seemed very cool) said 'American security servies were looking for Arab terrorists after the Oklahoma bombings.' That pretty much says it all really.
That woman made America seem so ignorant, arrogant and - frankly - racist.
The American PR campaign ain't going so well, is it?
