Well, I had lots of fun yesterday.
Went up to London to meet a friend from my university days. She wanted to see the Dr Who exhibition on at Earl's Court and somehow just knew that I'd agree to go with her.
It was great. There was so much stuff there. Costumes. Props. Prosthetics. A Tardis (that, somehow I managed never to get a photo of. Go figure)
I interrupt to say...
While admiring The Doctor's coat, K and I found a mutual admiration for the long coat that Arthur wears in Merlin. We agreed it was a very swoon-worthy coat. Fits him really rather well *g* She also pointed out that the shorter red one was also really rather nice.
I think some screencaps might be in order *G*
Back to Dr Who...
I've had my picture taken with a Cyberman and a Dalek (although not at the same time)
I'm going to be putting up the pics some time in the next day or so.
These are the pictures that will come off my brand spanking new camera, courtesy of my brother. I've always been crap at working out how to use digital cameras. No idea why, I just seem to have a knack for not getting them. This one, though, this rocked. So, so simple.
I'm doubly looking forward to ComicCon next year because I'll be able to actually take my own photos *does excited dance*
So, after buying my car a black dalek air fresher that wobbles, me and K went for lunch at TGI Friday's. I think the last time I was there was when I was in the US two years ago. Maybe even longer. We then made a rather fateful journey across the road and into HMV, where she bought season three of Dr Who. I managed to resist everything that HMV threw at me -- ER, Homicide:Life on the Street, Oz, BSG, Dr Who, among others -- until I came across Studio 60. I then crumbled like a crumbly thing and bought it, crumbling all the way to the till.
(That's not to say I won't buy any of the above titles on Amazon. I probably will.)
We then sauntered over to Tate Modern, kind of stumbling over St Paul's Cathedral on the way. Well, K knew it was there, I didn't and so when she pointed it out, I was rather amazed to see the Dome towering above all the boring concrete buildings of the Financial district. So I had to take pictures. They, too, will be up later.
While K went and saw one of the exhibitions you have to pay for, I wondered around the place and was pleasantly surprised to discover that I actuially liked some of the pieces in there. Not many, because a fan of modern art, I'm not, but some wasn't too bad, and a some of it was really rather good.
Then, when I got home, I watched the entire first disk of Studio 60 and loved it. Not a deep seated adoration like I got for SGA, Criminal Minds or, most recently, Merlin, but still loved it.
What is it about Aaron Sorkin and writing platonic gay relationships? He did it in The West Wing and he's doing it here. Not that I'm complaining, mind you *g*
