Well, I had a great time yesterday. It was finally Meet the Hewletts and I did *g*
It was great fun. SO much fun.
I went up to stay with
tahariel on the Friday night and we got there for about 9.45am. We walked over to the queue where I was immediately hailed by
looking4tarzan and
solace1969. Both of who I met for the first time at Peg3. It was great seeing them again. And
beaniesheppard finally made it the short distance from her room to the Con *g*
I think
solace1969 and I might have decided to go to SG-14-1 because JR Bourne (Martouf, if you're wondering) was announed as a guest yesterday. Holiday and money are the only issues *g*
I also met
saffie_lew, which was very cool. Girl got a hug from David Hewlett on her birthday. Lucky thing *g* (and hon, I hope you got your autographs)
I met others, but have no idea of lj names. If I met you, tell me. I'd like to know.
We went and sat in the hall after registration. There we watched
Star Trekkin' SGA style and a few other youtube videos. And then we watched 501 Search and Rescue, because, really we had to. And it's great on a big screen. And also, watching first Rodney and then John with a baby in a room full of fans is a unique experience *g*
The photos were great fun. I was SO excited, as I'm sure everyone with me will attest to. Oh, and shock of all shocks, I didn't blink when the camera flashed and so only had one photo with David (I was really rather upset about that, to be honest). And me,
beaniesheppard,
tahariel and
solace1969 had a group photo with both David and Kate. There was a moment where we thought I might have my eyes closed, but it was all okay. David was asking me if I saw a flash and apparently if I see a flash, I'm all good. How did I not know that?
Both of them were laughing and joking around and are wonderfully lovely people. David scrubs up very well and was looking very gorgeous. Kate looked stunning and was wearing a beautiful red dress.
And then there was the talk. I haven't laughed that much in such a short space of time in a long, long while. After ten minutes my jaw was killing me. After 90 minutes, it was killing me. But it was all worth it.
Of course the first thing they talked about was the wedding. Kate was saying how ever since getting married David will cry at anything. For the rest of the talk she kept asking if she was seeing tears in his eyes.
Stories of Baz being the anti-christ. He was all happy and wonderful until he either went in the church or a preist approached him at which point he started screaming like a banshee *g*
The rapore and ease between the siblings was a joy to watch. They teased, they joked and they seemed to be having a blast.
There was the moment David asked if we'd seen anything of Search and Rescue and Kate gave him this wonderful look of WTF? and pointed out to him that we'd all been watching it while the photos had been going on. David looked at us all and was like, really? Of course we answered in the affirmative. He was all like, 'but I haven't seen it yet!' And then called us a room full of criminals.
EDIT: (Because I can't believe I forgot this bit) He threatned us first with the police bursting in and then Joe F bursting in with a P90. That got the predicatable cheering and catcalls and David was very quick to point out that the P90 wouldn't be all Joe would be wearing, there would be clothes too. That didn't seem to deter us *g*
Both he and Kate talked a bit about The Shrine. He told us the outline and was greeted with lots of us going 'Eeeeeeee'. To which he stopped, looked amused and asked if that was 'The Squee'. He was told it was more of a terrified squee. And then he said a little bit more and some of us did it again. It was hilarious.
And, I have to say, it sounds like it should be a great episode. As long as they don't fuck it up. And, naturally, the bit I'm worried they will fuck up in the John-Rodney part. I don't think they will mess up the rest of the emotional scenes with everyone else, but the John bit? If they play that for laughs, I'll be so pissed. It is a Brad Wright script, so I have hope. I'm just relieved it's not a Joe M script.
By the time they had finished talking, there wasn't that much time for questions. I'm not sure they straightforwardly answered any questions. Their answers went all over the place and the number of times Kate had to prompt David to finish a story was, well, numerous.
Then there were the autographs. Again they were both charming and lovely. We all ended up outside because they had to clear the place to be finished by 5pm. I don't think they got the autographs done by then, so I hope they managed to get through everyone who was still there after 5pm.
And then I drove
tahariel back home and then drove me home.
If you haven't seen CSI Atlantis, I suggest you do. It's hilarious. John better be careful, is all I can say *g*

And this is an old favourite,Star Trekkin: SGA style, but one I feel I have to put up, just so those who haven't seen it, can.

I still need to watch this week's Dr Who, so I'm going to go click on iplayer in a moment. Torchwood crew are there too. I can't miss this.
I've started watching Burn Notice and, only two episodes in, I love it.
Rupert Penry-Jones is both hot and cute on Top Gear. And Peter Firth is very cool.
