I Guess I Really Am an Elite
I just realized, reading through all the post-Palin stuff on the Internet, that the term "Joe Six-Pack" refers to beer! I thought it had something to do with six-pack abdominal muscles. Granted, that never made sense to me, because so few men actually have them, but I thought it must be some blue-collar aspirational thing (yup, I'm always thinking.) Of course, the term "six pack" in reference to abs is in itself a reference to a 6-pack of beer. Huh.
