Transition is the most important life skill. It keeps us constantly learning, constantly living a step ahead of our demons. To say what we have is all that life is, is unacceptable, and it'll take a whole pillbox to be ok with that.
Talk about your discredits to Natural Selection. How can a clynically insane world reproduce? How do they handle it? How do I handle it? Everyone finds torment when they reach what they lust. It's either the hell of knowing or the hell of not knowing. Are you crazy for needing a whole box of pills, or am I crazy for not?
_____
The tired DJ drops no an exhausted record
the people hold dear what makes them happy
the DJ winces at a bad melody
and sneaks one in to be made the same
The starving youth floors it down the road
feels just like it did years ago
the youth cries out to a bad radio song
and fails to live the memory once again
Take me to that place I need to go
my dreams are tall and this night is slow
Sing this song with me just one more time
my life is looking for this longlost rhyme
The balding man hugs his 5th at a slow bar
these walls had seen this man in prime
the man slurs along to a jukebox radio
and gets flooded with a drop of what he needs
The clear girl palms a handful of pills
forgot how much pain sobriety tugs along
The girl ignores the radio, minds got places to go
and listen, she will tomorrow, today down the hatch
Take me to that place I need to go
my dreams are tall and this night is slow
Sing this song with me just one more time
my life is looking for this longlost rhyme
The dying teacher picks up all her thoughts
was it worth it, or all for naught
the teacher absorbs a waitingroom melody
and drops, knowing that could have been me
The unborn child listens, song from headset to womb
the thoughts of tomorrow are all that loom
the child swims, for just this once he'll be free
and knows when tomorrow will come, this melody will be me
