I know I just posted how wonderful my friends are... BUT
they can also be wonderfully evil and cost me loads of money!
I got sent a link to a US food shop within the UK. I ordered from it, spending in some cases 4x's what the item would have cost had I had a friend buy it and ship it to me.
I could not stop. It had items for thanksgiving, and items I have been seeking since I moved.
Pickles, guildens mustard, maple syrup, kraft mac n cheese, hershey's kisses, chocolate syrup, saltine crackers, grits, oatmeal, etc.
The sad part is that had I known I could not find these items, I would have packed the BIG huge box of oatmeal i had just bought from Cosco before I left, and the rest of the box of saltines. I had forgotten how ya just cant find things.
Like WTF. I cant find decent spaghetti sauce (no PREGO) nor can I find what I need to make it from scratch. What is up with that? No canned tomato sauce, or paste, or chunky tomatoes.
Am I just an idiot and looking in teh wrong spots? Ach well. I spent far to much online for things just to have some creature comforts from where I grew up.
So, anyone want to please a girl in the UK formerly of the US? Instead of mailing me a Christmas card... buy a box of kraft mac n cheese, write merry christmas on it and mail the f*cker to me! (i prefer spirals, but hey am not picky) I would ask for pickles, but they cost more to ship... what they call pickles is actually relish. GROSS. Vlasic Kosher baby dills any day.
The pickles... I didnt know I was missing them until another friend pointed out that was what she missed while living here.
So, ya see... friends are great, but also evil... I am just saying. LOL
food,
friends
