Thanks! It is also currently on the rise compared to Torstein which is dropping in popularity. But we'll see, might end up with something boring like Erik, Oskar or Karl. The ones I vetoed outright were Varg, Torg and Ragnvald. I told the bf it's a baby, not an Orc.
Erik's a nice one, always liked it. Though your top two choices are more unusual (well, to me), so that's a plus! I didn't get to ask you on the phone, but I'm guessing Thor's out, then? Anyway, good luck with the decision-making. :)
(Also - from seeing your comment below - Ozzie???)
Oz is short for Australia so an Australian girl in that other forum I go to said that in honour of Australian Day I should name the kidlet Ozzie. Said sure I will, as long as I can pass it as a Viking name. Which I totally can't.
Still like Thor it's just that the pronunciation in Norwegian is not so nice and I don't like it and the kid would have his name pronounced way different in each country. The Norwegian pronunciation sounds something like Tour. Way different.
Ahh, didn't make the connection with Australia - all I could think of was Ozzie Osbourne. ;) (Which Google tells me is spelled Ozzy. Oh well, details.)

I have to agree with you - Varg et al are no good names for a baby :)

Oh, and I do live with the bf and Reena in Halandri.
Erik is nice but I don't want to name the kid after the grandfather. It's such a Greek thing to do. (the other grandfather is called Eirik)

Glad our finalist names sound ok to a Norwegian :D But I don't understand, how did you go from Siri to your name?

According to my mother I didn't look like a Siri- not that I know how Siris look like.
