Today is mine.

Today I am 23! Or, today I am two years away from being a quarter of a century old. Slight mindblower.
It feels especially weird because 23 is one of those indeterminable, placeholder birthdays that, when you're a kid, you imagine to be one of the first steps toward being old and decrepit. Which is awfully silly now. I remember being seven or eight and thinking that the junior high kids in a school scene from the movie Casper looked so very old and so very massive and grownup.Years later when rewatching the movie, I was startled by how teeny those kids actually were. What had eight-year-old me been thinking?!
Anyway! Today I requested off work to avoid the shittiness of working on my birthday that I had to deal with last year (after which I drove two hours to my folks' house, then an additional hour to get to my friend's house and collapsed on the couch the night before we had to drive five hours for vacation. despite the promise of beaches, it was the worst. birthday. ever.) Today, however, no! I shall sit gloriously on my ass, then drive to work to pick up my paycheck, gloat a little at my less fortunate coworkers, then scamper on out the door to treat myself to an expensive DVD, followed by birthday festivities later tonight and this weekend back home.
Also, my roommate is amazing and got me a plethora of nicely-wrapped gifts from The Disney Store (she knows me so well), including an application to that location, which is hiring.
The Disney Store is hiring.
The Disney Store is hiring.
The Disney Store is hiring and my roommate talked up my Disney obsession and animation major-ing to them.

*FURIOUSLY FILLS OUT APPLICATION
And now, a celebration composed entirely of gifs. Because I am allowed to be self-indulgent today.
(that one's definitely for me, because I ignore all the Human!Beast naysayers and admire that French-Roman profile)
