I really need to stop taking so many study breaks. I will never get anything accomplished if I keep doing this!
This weekend was satisfying. The family showed up yesterday shortly before noon. I gave them a little tour and showed them where my classes are and then they took me shopping. I got some new clothes, a bunch of stuff at Target and a ton of groceries. Hopefully they'll last me until I go home next month and they can take me shopping again. :)
After shopping all afternoon we brought all my stuff back to the dorm and put it all away, which took some time. My mom also figured out how to load my software so that was nice. I stayed with them in the hotel last night, just to get away from the dorm life for a while. It was relaxing and I got to eat a real meal last night. We went to a really nice restaurant and it was super good. This morning I took a shower in a real bathroom and went out to breakfast(yay for another real meal!!) They dropped me off around 11:30 and I've been attempting to study ever since, with quite a few breaks in between.
I'm tired and somewhat depressed. I'm sure that's partially due to the weather, lack of sleep, and saying goodbye to my family again. I hope the next 5 weeks go as quickly as these past 3 have.
When I was 6, my mom started writing in a book for me. She'd make an entry once or twice a year, sometimes more, and write about what I was like. She wrote about big things that happened that year, my accomplishments, what she was proud of, etc. She also put in pieces of my artwork, writing, and other things from school. I always tried to sneak a peek at the book and read what she was writing about. Yesterday she finally gave the book to me. I guess that means that I am officially no longer a child. I've only read a few things and skimmed a few pages, but it brought me to tears. I'm really glad she took the time to do this for me because it's really interesting to read about what I was like when I was younger. It's interesting to see someone else's perspective of my life.
In the 3 weeks that I have been here, this is the first time that I've really wanted nothing more than to just go home.
