the LDS faith is... incredibly interesting. i sort of feel like an apostate mormon, because of all i know about it (including some stuff I shouldn't, I suppose), and because i feel like I have a shared background with Bryan. Our family is composed of many different beliefs, about half of it being Mormon. Our property management is from Mormons, my client at Multiplicity is Mormon, one of my best friends is Mormon. It's an incredibly interesting and complex religion, and even if I throw away 99 percent of it, there's still that 1 percent that makes you go "hmm... I could see that."
It's weird though, not believing, and still loving them fiercely. I feel like I need to have my own views against it, but when people make cracks at it without any knowledge about it, or say that Mormon practice polygamy (which is obviously not true as any who are found to be polygamists right now are excommunicated) just annoys me. Learn things! Expand yourself!!
I'm glad you got to see Temple Square. You should see it at Christmas, it's just beautiful... floating candles in the reflecting pond, the spires stark against the sky, and the trees with lights. Very very beautiful. And yes, all the pretty LDS sister missionaries do seem to gravitate to Temple Square...
Funny how that works :)
