A great weekend concludes with a paper over Things Fall Apart and A Month and a Day. Friday was an A+ superior day, thanks to the presence of Laser tag, Chicago Dough, Drew (pre)Fontaine, Dave Kajawa, Brandon Hamme, Tim Evett, and Tim Sommer. Good times, great people.
****NEWS FLASH: Dave Kajawa is the biggest fan of agression I know.****
Contemplating and considering the future I have been. Someone this weekend mentioned the Americorps...so I looked into it, and it seems appealing. It'd only be a year, and I could get my loans either deferred or forbeared. Which would be nice. It's also a civic plus. The only downside is that if I did want to do something in TV, it would hurt my chances becasue that is a year without TV expirence. But I've thought about that too. Maybe TV is something I shouldn't do. After reading and reflecting on the things mentioned in Africa class, well, if I'm to take any of it seriously, I don't see how I can take a cushy job when there is so much suffering, hurt, and injustice in this world. Actually, if I'm to take any part of Christianity seriously. There is an old saying that if you are not part of the solution, then you are part of the problem. I wouldn't say that's a blanket statement, but it does fit with many instances of social and economic inequity. With many issues, a huge part of the problem is ignorance and/or apathy. Something I've been mulling over, we'll see where it takes me. I do know that when school starts again, it'll be time to volunteer at center of hope.
Saturday I made an Anne Frank shirt.
That aside, Dan Cramer and Miss Jess Jahnsen are getting hitched this weekend, and Betty and her dandy man Andy will be making the trek from the Quad Cities.
p.s. x-men 3 opens friday. Are you game for going?
