I spent most of the weekend at the hospital just racking up a huge bill that I will not be able to pay. I have been having the worst pains in my leg. Pains so bad I feel like I can't walk and I wake up out of a sleep because the pain is so bad. I started to feel the pain on Thursday night but then it went away. Well it came back Friday afternoon and never went away. I woke up that night crying because the pain was so bad and I no matter what I did it never went away. Woke up saturday and the pain was still there. So finally at like 3-4 p.m. I decided to go to the hopsital. They checked it out and thought for sure that I had a blood clot in my leg because I am on birth control and I smoke and it's well known that birth control can cause blood clots. So they gave me this shot in my stomach to thin my blood, just in case that's what it was. And they told me that if I had any unsual pain to come back in. Well about 2 hours later my left arm came completely numb and was tingling. Then I felt my heart racing. And I just didn't feel right in general. So I had Duane take me back to the hospital. They ran all these tests, EXPENSIVE TESTS and determined that I juat had anxiety. And they shot me up with ativan, which we give the old people at work to calm them down. And they gave me a few extra pills and told me that if I had any pain to take a pill. So apparently my arm being numb was just me having anxiety? Doesn't make much sense to me but whatever. So I had to go back to the hopspital on Sunday 24 hours after getting the first shot to get another one. And of course as soon as I got the shot my arm felt numb again and all they did was give me some ativan and sent me home. Then yesterday, I had to go and see a vascular specialist to get an ultra sound of my calf to make sure that there was no blood clot. It turns out that I have a pinched nerve. They gave me some steroids to take and then them vicodin for the pain so that I can sleep at night. *sigh* What a great weekend and I had to miss classes yesterday for the appointment.
