Another awesome Saturday
hah this is pretty sweet. i came into frebruary dreading the month yet so far its turned out amazing.
it started off hott with my bday and then my friend's totallysweetawesomemademecrytearsofjoy surprise party
then i got to conduct choir for at least a little bit everyday this week (altho frustrating sometimes still cool) annd we had our first snow day in forever
and then it was today
my senior game (me being the only senior)
woosh
i was kinda dreading this since my season turned out to be pretty much nonexistent for the second year in a row because of injury and then bronchitis.
but yea it was awesome
my teammates made me some sweet posters that i'm leaving up for a bit but are totally going in my room
annd raf. gave a very nice little touching speech
and my three closest friends, my girls who have been my rock throughout highschool were there, at least for the speech/flowers part (cait and sara had to go back to play practice cuz they had skipped out on it for me !how sweet!) but jess and her mommy! were there for the whole game <3
which brings me to the game.
soo we come in from finishing warming up and brie (one of the starters) comes up to me and says krusty (my nickname) you've beeen here a long time..i want you to start for me. and i was like whoa..isn't that raf's decision? and she was like yea he told me to. and i was like "alohtaout0wa30u" yea that's what my mind was doing. and then i had to run out during the national anthem cuz i was wearing a black tshirt under my uniform and apparently that's a no no.
and then it happened
i started
for the first time
ever
on varsity
i started
omg
i was so close to tears
i had to wipe them away as we got ready to tip the ball
and one of my teammates whispered to me "if you're open we're giving you the ball so shoot it!" and all the other's nodded and said "yes..please!"
and then the most magical thing of all
first play we good possession of the ball, brittney drove in, i slide to the corner, she popped the ball out to me, and i shot it
swoosh
a perfect 3-pointer
the first points we scored that game
the first shot i had taken in a season game in over a year
and i freaking made it
it was perfect
yea so i played my heart out for 5 more minutes and not much else happened, and then raf. took me out because, or so the coaches told me "we need more offensive rebounds" lol i'm just surprised i stayed in that long. plus i was losing wind anyway, i would've needed a sub soon regardless
yea i didn't play the rest of the game which was fine
i had had my moment
it went as perfect as it could go
the only thing that would have made the day any better is if we won
it was soo damn close.
sigh
oh well
it was still amazing
ok i'm done
now tomorrow starts the testing portion of the month! time to see if all my hardwork has paid off.
tomorrow: hochstein piano recital
friday the 16th (last day before break): audition for naz. all day long
saturday the 24th: audtion for fredonia
bring it on baby :D
