I both like and dislike working the weekend.
I enjoy having complete control over my cases and being able to work them up on my own without interference.
I don't enjoy it when having done so and concluded that a "complicated surgery" is the required solution, i have to then try and find someone i can drag in to help me with it.
(In this instance the owner didn't want surgery for their animal regardless, so having got a diagnosis requested euthanasia.)
I managed to completely empty ward this morning and it was empty for a whole hour before i admitted two new patients.
I'm feeling the recession at the moment, many fewer calls out of hours and when i do speak to someone and advise they be seen, they are mostly deciding to keep their fingers crossed until morning rather than pay the extra £70 which is sad.
Two days off now - MoT tomorrow - fingers crossed for my poor little beat up car.
If it's not too cold or wet tomorrow i might try and get out in the garden, been putting it off because the weather's been rubbish but there's some tidying up to do and repairing of fences etc... The christmas tree didn't survive so i need to find a way to get rid of that also.
