(no subject)
So, i'm back home, and my grandparents went to this large flea market near me today, as they tend to do. I have several very old cameras that i have on a bookcase, that i could probably adapt to take proper photos but have never bothered because they're more for the sake of having them (e.g. an old kodak brownie and that kind of them) and they look cool on the bookcase they're on. However, my grandparents got me this camera today for the same kind of reason, just for display purposes, that is AMAZING. like, they haggled it down from £14 to £7 (something that really pisses me off about my grandparents: they don't understand that haggling is only for things that are overpriced. i would've gladly paid a lot more than £7 for this camera). this is the camera they got. It's so cool. It has the body of a 35mm slr, with a lens like a large format, and it takes 120 film. it's the most bizarre piece of kit i've ever seen, but it seems to work absolutely perfectly and i've been snapping off a few images, can't wait to see them. apparently its worth like £50 to £60 at the very least, so i'm well chuffed.
anyway, tonight i went and had pints with planty, richie, timmins. It was highly enjoyable. The other night i got ludicrously pissed at our mate adam's house and tried to break into the abandoned house next door by throwing bricks through the window. luckily richie was sober and dragged us away before we got arrested hahah.
in other news, i pre-ordered foals' album last night, and i am so fucking excited about it i can't even tell you cohesively. I also made sure to get the special edition version that has a bonus disc with Hummer and mathletics and suchlike on, amazing singles that they decided not to put on the main album for some fucking reason, they're probably sick of them. It also has several live tracks on that were actually recorded at a gig at nottingham, bizarrely. oh, and their latest Single, Cassius, is so good that every second i'm awake and not listening to it i die a little inside. I don't care how much hype they get, Foals are without a fucking doubt one of the best bands in recent memory. I know i said this kind of hyperbolae when Battles came around, but fuck off im allowed to get excited about innovative music hahah.
