Had a horrendous time at work today. I don't even want to talk about it anymore. The only things I was looking forward to, was to come home to M & of course the birthday celebration for my mum this evening.
Well, mum's birthday celebration went well.. except that I couldn't stop yawning throughout the evening! (yawning even when I am typing this entry!) Finally can get some decent sleep tonight! Nothing beats sleeping on your own bed! (the hotel pillows kill!!)
Well, the funny thing is that mum has never been fond of celebrating her birthdays - she initiated this one! I see that in my grandad (my mum's dad) as well. I am not sure if their perceptions change as they age. They used to think that birthday celebrations are a waste of money. Do they now think that they don't have many more birthdays to celebrate? And that birthdays are good reasons for loved ones to gather for a good meal?
It's scary to see how mum has aged over the years because I can still picture her in her 1980's looks, coming to pick me up after school!! And now, she is 57, with a head of streaked highlights of different shades of burgundy & many more birthdays to celebrate.. I am sure. :-)
