Shou had been right.

That night, when they had left Hiroto and Saga in their hotel room, the vocalist had asked him to join him downstairs for a drink. Shou did not drink anything, but that did not matter. What mattered was that he knew Tora needed it, that he needed to talk, and that he cared enough to listen. He knew that, even though Tora did not say anything, because he was happy for his friends, it was still hard. And he had been right when he had said it wasn’t just the warm body at night he missed.

He missed the playful moments before.
He missed the shared cigarette and the late night shared showers afterwards.

But then Shou had shaken his head and said it was more than that. If he had just wanted someone to share the night with, he would have gone to Shou. They were too different to ever be a perfect match, but they both knew that it could work out on a once-in-while basis if they wanted it to. But it was not enough. They were just friends. Tora needed someone who was more than that to him. He needed someone to take away his loneliness the way his friends had not been able to.

He needed someone to share his life with.
And he needed someone who needed to share their life with him in return.

It was just that he was a musician. He was always working at the studio and sometimes he did not come home until long past midnight. For weeks in a row. Sometimes he was on tour for even longer. He was shitty boyfriend material in any case and his lifestyle only added to that. He couldn’t really see how a relationship of any kind would ever fit into that, at least not one that wasn’t with another member of his own band, and he had been there already.

But somehow he still found himself there.
Tangled in less-than-fresh sheets, smoking cigarettes way too strong to be his.

There was no one to share them with though, because the body wrapped around his was almost asleep already. He would wake up again soon enough, he always did, only to mumble about pleasant aches and no alarm clocks, but Tora just smiled and traced the inked patterns on his skin. Butterfly wings that fluttered when he held on to them. He knew he only had a few minutes to enjoy the peaceful moment before another, smaller one, would come back from his shower.

Complaining about how they stole his cigarettes.
Though he secretly loved the way they stole a little bit of him when he was gone.

The smaller one had been on tour for almost a month, but whenever they had time, they would came to see him play and to spend the night with him. And when he left in the mornings, without saying goodbye, he always left another pack on the bedside table for them. They all smoked different brands, but they shared them anyway. And most of the time the hotel showers were too small for all three of them, but it did not matter. They just shared everything else instead.
