You, you are very right in that Tora didn't understand the concept of masochism. All he could see was the pain, not the pleasure, and the fact he was inflicting it, not the trust Aki put in him. But it was the fact he didn't want to hurt that lead to him taking out his inner anger on Aki, when Aki refused to listen to and accept Tora's dislike of being forced into the role of a sadist. Had Aki not pushed as hard as he did, he might've been able to teach Tora what sadomasochism is really about, teach him the delicate balance of it, in a way they both were okay with it. In many ways Aki failed Tora just as much as Tora failed Aki, and I think the consequences they got from it were equally severe, with the difference of Aki's being physical and Tora's mental.

I hope they can both be happy at the end here. Hiroto will not ask pain from Tora, that much I know, and therefore I think they have a good chance of being happy together. As long as Tora is truly over Aki, the relationship they used to have, and can therefore focus fully on Pon.

As for Aki and Kenzo I honestly don't know. I very much doubt this Kenzo is the kind of sadist Aki was looking for in Tora, he has seen the downside of pain in a relationship and I doubt he'd be very happy to inflict pain either. That could come to be a problem for them. But then Aki has hopefully learnt a few very valuable lessons, and should it come to him asking pain of Kenzo he will hopefully know hot to do it properly this time, not ask too much too quick. If he dare ask it at all, even if he needs it. They sure have a long way to go still, all of them.

Thank you for leaving another comment when more awake! And sorry for a long long loooong reply! Hahaha!

xD long comments are good

though I have to disagree with you on my view on how Aki and Kenzo'll be doing
because... well... it is your fic and therefore your every word is law, but somehow I've also come to view Kenzo in a bit different way and therefore I have problems seeing that problem in their relationship
....
but then again I REALLY should stop letting every single good fic influence me so much that I spend HOURS thinking about if and crying or bouncing or giggling over it even if it's been months since I last read it
... and also not let them influence my point of view in how to read the next couple of fics and personas.

....
so yeah
what I'm trying to say is that I see this Kenzo, aki, tora, pon a bit like the Kenzo, aki tora, pon from Suzy's Learning, minus the having been raped and abused and traumatized part =w=
in which Kenzo is completely fine with giving Aki the right kind of pain and understands it.
....
so yeah
if you understood any of that
I'm just rambling because suddenly I'm able to write a LOT as soon as it's something I'm interested in, but I'll get my writers block back up as soon as I turn back to my school assignment I've been sweating over for the past three hours without getting ANYWHERE >>
...
*frustrated*
I'll leave you alone now

Whether or not Kenzo would've been able to hurt Aki at one point, he wouldn't now. He was what Aki went through with Tora and how bad an outcome it had, physically as well as emotionally, there is just no way he could hurt Aki himself after that. It would bring back too many painful memories for Kenzo himself, not to mention he'd be afraid to lose control the way Tora did.

I think it's very important to keep stories apart yes. You can have an idea of what characters alike, I sure do and a writer has to write really well for me to accept certain behaviours in certain characters, but to think of Aki, Kenzo, Tora and Pon here like the characters from Learning (a story I love to bits and pieces) becomes very misguiding for those characters as well as the characters in Broken Bonds and Healing Balms. They are two very different sets of characters, with different stories and different reactions. So no, I definitely don't think Kenzo could cause Aki pain in this story, not even the kind he knows Aki wants, or at least wanted before.

...good point

and yeah, I know I know =w= I'm well aware that it's a bad habit, and I try not to, but sometimes (especially when I'm tired) I just... mess it all up =w=
