It's snowing here. There's about an inch or two on the ground. This is not exactly news, but in its own way I feel as snowed in as Manhattan anyway---ever try to drive a Hooterville road with the locals in the wintertime? They're worse than Californians...as if that was possible.
There's just too many hills to negotiate in the area, which make the going treacherous and my confidence lower. So I'm snowbound for the day, or at least until the storm passes and the roads get cleared. Maybe Friday I can venture into the wilderness again.
The upside, though? Not having a 160-mile commute to Flag and back anymore. No jackknifes, no rollovers, no school closings---PRAISE JESUS---and no fears of meeting my maker thanks to an ice rink of a highway and something with antlers acting as the Grim Reaper. With my luck, I'd be beheaded in a traffic accident in the dead of winter and mounted over some elk's fireplace.
So, it's snowing. I have cocoa, but not much else for comfort. Yeah, the year is ending as perfectly as it's felt for the duration.
