Athletic Banquet
So last night was the athletic banquet and all my instincts proved true...but i still had a blast. Let me recall what happened:
before taking the shuttle bus downtown i got my roomates to do my make-up and hair, maria should be on one of those makeover shows she was so proffessional...anyway
4:30pm: arrived at the Delta Chelsea Hotel downtown. Went up to room with natasha, shannon, matt, and various other teams members. tash and shannon were getting their makeup on and drinking and everyone else was also drinking. I had some mixed drink that was really strong but I dranl it all (yay me). We get our wrestling belts (WWE belts from toys'r'us).
6:30pm: we head out to 89 Chestnut (a residence that used to be a hotel and the university holds banquets in the halls). I see Laura (soccer player) and Justin (this guy who lives in my row) and hang out with the team. tash is kind of drunk at this point and shannon is the sheets to the wind (she stayed that way all night too).
7:00pm: They let us into the hall and me nick and tash get some drinks (rum and coke for me). They start the banquet. We eat...awards...yadda yadda.
10:00pm: me tash and nick do shots (vodka for me...shudder) and some guy from the volleyball team says he could take me on and win my belt. I'm like "whatever buddy, you wanna go?, i can take you." This guy was like 6foot something and pretty muscular and he chalenged me to a dance off for it (i'm pretty sure i was tipsy at this point otherwise i wouldn't have been dancing at all). we dance for a bit and the belt comes undone (stupid double sided tape)and falls to the floor and he picks it up and raises it over his head and is all like "i am the champion" and tash comes over and is like "tessa get your belt back!" so i got it back and left the dance floor. I went and got desert and talked to Rezzo for a bit (assistant coach).
11:00pm: At this point i was sober again and sick of the dancing and drunk people so I went back to the hotel room by myself (Matt walked me there because he didn't want someone to attack me or anything...he's like the big brother i never had) and so i'm in the hotel room by myself and chilling.
11:30pm: the room phone rings and i go and pick it up. some guy is asking for shannon (when tash and shannon get drunk they tell every guy they meet what are hotel room is and to come party. this guy on the phone says to tell shannon that Paul says hi. he then asks me what i'm up and and invites me to come down to the pool and hang out with the swim team (keep in mind i know ppl on the swimming team and i knew these guys weren't random people off the street). i go to the pool and we chill there for a bit, i meet Paul and Peter (who i had actually met before through Misa...Mandi, it was the guy at Misa's party who was bitching about vegetarians to you and Brian), frank, nico, kristie and some other girl whoms name i don't remember.
12:00am: the pool closes, we get kicked out but we all go into the sauna in the guys change room. 10mins later we get kicked out of there as well. I go back to my room and the swimmers go back to theirs.
12:30am: i'm bored and decide to visit the swimmers. i go up the the 10th floor and knock on their door and everythign in the room goes quiet. this is because they though i was the manager coming with another noise complaint. all the swimmers are pretty wasted and they offer me straight mount gay rum. i accept and nurse it for an hour...that stuff is strong and nasty. I find out the banquet is over at 1am and i know shannon and natasha will be back at the room around that time so i leave around 1:30. (in the time i was there there was another noise complaint...we weren't even being loud). did i mention it was a no pants party? all the guys were in their underwear and us girls were in bathing suits, i also had a t-shirt on cause i was cold.
1:30am: i go back to my room and tasha and shannon are packing there things and going home (they live near the hotel...like 15mins walk) and seiji is taking a girl out to this club where he works. basically i was the only one staying in the room and the whole wrestling team ditched me...basterds. whatever, they're no fun anyway...now the swim team they were hilarious.
1:45am: Paul calls from his room and invites me back up. said i'd come up in a bit but i wanted to take a shower first. he then tells me this "there are some people who are cute, some who are sexy and some who are beautiful; you are all three" and i laughed and told him he was really drunk. he started trying to sweet talk me but unfortunatly for him i was sober and could kick his ass (which was proved later..i'll get to that). so go go take a shower and head upstairs to their room.
2:00am: i get back to the swimmers rooma nd now they're even drunker then before. i end up waltzing (literally) with peter and paul and wrestling nick and showing everyone some moves (they were really impressed). Then paul thinks he can take me on so we go at it and i tackle him to fall on the bed but he stands back up so i pick him up from that position and throw him onto the other bed. he's all surprised and just kind of lies there stunned while everyone else gives he high fives. haha. then we all get into the circle and listen to peters love problems while holding hands...this was a very touchy feely group.
3:00am: loud knocks come to the door and the hotel manager asks everyone except paul to leave the hotel (because he's the one who booked the room) and nico got to stay as well beuase he was asleep. i bolted out of there and went back to my own room to try and go to sleep.
3:30am: i'm still awake, the phone rings and its paul laughing about how fast i got out of the room. he asks if i want some company upstairs and i was like " no, i'll just veg out and go to sleep" but i say i'll add him to facebook. he didn't seem impressed by that...too bad
3:45pm: paul calls again and wants to come up and watch harry potter (he wanted to order the movie) but the hotel was on matt's credit card so i couldn't just order a movie. i was like come up and we'll watch gaataca...it was the only thing on tv.
4:00am: paul comes to my room and we're tlaking and i'm under the covers and the bed and he's sitting on the other side. he's still really drunk. all so a sudden he leans in (i guess to kiss but eww) so before he got close i cross-faced him off the bed. he learned his drunken lesson and we watched gaataca till the end.
5:00am: gaataca is over and i kick paul out of the room. i make plans to go have breakfest with him and nico at new college the next day (this morning) for all you can eat breakfest.
5:30am: i'm trying to fall asleep while watching lumber jack games on spike tv and seiji and samanthat come back form the club. seiji sleeps and the floor and me and sam take the bed.
9:30am: wake up and pack everything and go get paul and nico
10:45am: we finally arrive at new college and i start to stuff my face. paul calls peter and frank (they live at new college) and we all eat in the cafeteria.
11:30am: i hear someone call my name and look around...it's my friend Laura. she's asks me how i'm getting home and i say subway and so i decide to leave with her. we ride the subway together and i get off a mississauga and take the bus back home.
12:40am: friggen 50min bus ride from islington station to UTM campus and i'm finally home.
