so...i hate the people in my film class (film and music).  we had to pick one of five films to add to the course.  honestly i think that's really cool.  so the professor had us write a paper on what film we thought would be good, making sure to have a clip, and he picked from them.  so the choices:

Across the Universe
A Clockwork Orange
Harlan County USA
Into The Wild
Run Lola Run

Guess which one it was? Oh Across the Universe? Never saw that one coming.

Come on people we had good picks and you chose shitty music videos!? Yes it's the Beatles, and their music is fucking fantastic, but we fucking watched A Hard Day's Night!  How much more do you need?

The music from Across the Universe is good.  The film is not.  If it were weekly music videos on MTV, it would have been better.  This is mostly because it's lack of a plot and horrible cg would not be as painful.  And of course the clip the person uses, is from the best part of the movie, "I Want You/She's So Heavy."

I could accept A Clockwork Orange, I didn't vote for it because I've never seen it and the clips I've seen are the really violent ones.  Harlan County seemed interesting in that it's a documentary about striking coal miners, and they wrote all the songs in the film.  Into the Wild I could also accept, the clip that was shown was ruined by the voice over.  but Run Lola Run seemed to be the most promising.  I was totally voting for that one, completely surprised because I was not expecting to have any interest in it.
