13: Elusion [Action]

[For those who want to try to get Naoya for his part in Kohaku's death, this is the post. He's hiding out in the deeper parts of the forest, and he is fully expecting all those who tried to come after him before to come again-- he's especially on the look out for Patchoulie

-Patchy would highly recommend running. Now. This time she's not playing around. This time she knows he has that teleportation ability. This time, she intends to finish him off. And the first thing she's going to do is cut off his escape route.-

Moon & Wood Sign "Satellite Himawari"

-Several glowing 'options' are released, scattering to the distance. Their patrol should catch him if he tries to get away...-

[This time, he has his full magic though. So while he's probably going to attempt to run in a second...]

I hope I "impressed" you.

"Makarakarn." [She'll see a flash of light, that seemingly has done nothing, and for the time being he'll do his best to keep his distance from her.]

-Patchouli doesn't respond with words. Oh no, she's going all out right into the cage.-

Earth & Metal Sign "Emerald Megalopolis"

-Casting forward, a series of giant emerald pillars begin to just from the air, intending to impale the boy.-

[About half of them glance off, and actually turn right around back at her. The others...well Makarakarn was at half-power after and all-- He curses.

He's manages off a quick teleport to avoid one that was going to impale him directly, but not quite fast enough and it does hit him off-center. As do other ones, as he can only teleport so fast.]

Drain. [
Bursts of what appears to be red strings will appear to head towards her, intending to sap both her health and magic power. He's already mentally started to look for a way out. All those teleports aren't light on his MP.]

-Patchy wasn't focused on dodging at all. She wanted this over and done with. So instead, she cast another spell.-

Moon & Metal Sign: "Sunshine Reflector"

-Once the spell was finished, a large magic mirror appeared before her, seemingly reflecting the attack. Naoya wasn't the only one with that sort of trick.-

[The purpose of that attack wasn't so much to injure her, but rather give him more mana. And that backfired, as the spell reflected back at him.

Even with his COMP, it was clear that he wasn't going to win this fight. Naoya scoffed; if only that damn trickster God would have stuck around, or if only the COMPS demonic powers would have worked here. There was no point in sticking around here then. ]

A good parent let's their kids make their own mistakes, and helps them see the truth. That's all I did for Kohaku.

[That should in theory, block her magic if only for a few seconds. In the meantime he'll be preparing a more powerful teleport spell, one that'll take him quite far.]

-Once more, Patchouli remains silent. She simply prepares her next strategy in her mind. In the meantime, the satellite 'options' are still flying about, and Naoya will have to put up with their non-directional laser fire.-

[ Naoya finishes casting the spell, and zoom! Teleport.

Unfortunately, because this teleport spell took more concentration because it's a considerable longer teleport.... some of those lasers are gonna hit him. Ouch.

Bleeding or not, he's moved a good distance away from where they were fighting. He'll probably a minute or two before those satellites find him again. Though, he doesn't know that at this point.]

-Patchouli takes her sweet time coming over to him, slowly floating her way over. Tick tock tick tock... seconds away from her spells being restored. Royal Flare is ready. Tick tock... soon she will turn him into dust...-

[...He's seen enough. Batman had been lurking not far from Naoya's position when Patchouli arrived on the scene. He originally had intended to make his move, but the witch's spell barrage gave him pause and he waited for how the battle would play out.

Now it's blatantly obvious. Patchouli will kill Naoya if he doesn't act now. He quickly draws a Batstar from his utility belt in his right hand, and his grapple gun in his left.

First, gotta stop Naoya from getting away. He's injured, but he can teleport. The source of his magic is his COMP in his hands. Batman throws the Batstar from the cover of the trees nearby at the COMP, intending to destroy it in Naoya's hands.

Then, he immediately takes aim with his grapple gun at Patchouli. He fires it at the hovering witch, aiming to have the grapple cable wrap around her legs. He regrets having to do this. When it secures itself, he activates the gun's electroshock function set to a lower voltage. It should be enough to incapacitate her, but not do any permenant damage.]

[Way too busy trying to figure out how to get away from Patchoulie to notice the batstar. And the COMP goes boom.

Cue lots of cursing in a barrage of languages.

Is that Batman? He'd stop and question more, but Naoya being Naoya will be trying to run away now and failing. He may not have a COMP, but he's going to do his best to try to scuttle away while Batman's reasonably distracted.

Limp, limp, fail running.]

-Patchouli, on the other hand, has collapsed from the sudden force of the shock applied to her body. Rough landing aside, she'll be fine. The shock kept her throat from closing up under the stress, at least.-

[Batman's not too worried about him escaping too quickly. ...He'll be a joke to track considering he's bleeding and injured. Before he gives chase, he loosens the wire from Patchouli and retracts it. He quickly dashes over to check her vitals; unconscious, just as he'd hoped.

...Now then. His frown deepens and he quickens a pace into the shadows and all but disappears into the forest in pursuit. He'll be catching up to you fast, Naoya. But will you see him coming before he gets you?]

[Naoya's been around long to know the feeling of when someone's following him-- even if he's not sure where exactly Batman is.

But his body can't exactly keep up with his demands anymore, so he'll be stumbling none too gRracefully into a tree, and eventually wind up slumping sitting at its base. He figures he's close by now...]

Thanks for your help. [Not sore that you broke his COMP at all.]

What do you want with me?

[Because he's damn sure he's covered his tracks, and if its word against word that isn't enough to hold him. He just underestimated how good of a hacker batman is.]

[Batman appears out of the forest from his left flank. He menacingly towers over the slumping Naoya. His eyes narrow as he stops near him, almost daring him to make a move. His voice laced with a cold, withering tone.]

You already know the answer.

[He adjusts his haori-- he would make a move if he was in a position to make one. But he can have a stare back in return that's rather eerie, like he's done this many times before.]
