Back in school again....my photography class is incredible. Wyatt, the old professor apparently left to teach in Daytona, so UCF hired a new teacher from Boston. She is very approachable and so insightful. I was a little worried about not having a professor to help guide me, so I'm so pleased to learn from the new professor. I really need to soak up as much technical information as possible this semester. All I cared about when I took photography in highschool was getting into the darkroom and exploring, and I didn't pay much attention to the basics. Doing so, I managed to overlook the technicalities of photography. I know how to print, so it's back to the basics....the fundimentals.
I have an online computer art class, which will be chalenging because I'm a dope with the adobe and have never used illustrator. It will be good experience, though.
My sculpture class is....well, not what I expected. The medium for the course is wood, which I'd never invisioned myself working with. I was hoping to sculpt with clay. I think this may be good for me though....it will definitely challenge me. My artwork is quite classic in style. Although I'm a huge fan of modern and postmodern sculpture, I usually tend not to create in those styles.....maybe this class will help me expand and redefine my style. I'm always on the lookout for unique pockets of inspiration. Who knows......Power tools do scare me, though.....
