What: Justin and Kat finally having the relationship talk
*Kat*
Walking down the hallway from the infirmary, she smiled softly to herself. It was nice to talk to Will by himself. Although the circumstances could be better. Hopefully Sven would wake up soon. Seeing a familiar figure down the hall, she bit her lip slightly. Well, she couldn't be putting this off any longer... Putting on a small smile, she walked towards the dark haired boy.
"Hey Justin..." she said softly as she brushed a strand of hair behind her ear.
*Justin*
He turned around when he heard someone call his name. Seeing Kat, he smiled softly.
"Hi.." he said quietly.
*Kat*
Twisting the strand of hair around her fingers, she shifted from foot to foot as she bit her lip slightly.
"So, um... How was yer vacation?"
*Justin*
"It was alright. Spent the time with parents. Had to convince them that it was safe to come back," he said with a shrug, stuffing his hands in his pocket.
"What about you?"
*Kat*
She blushed slightly as she pushed her hair over her shoulder.
"Ah had fun. Spent most of the time traveling 'round. Seein' the sights."
She laughed lightly.
"My parents didn't take that much convincin'. Better a school that gets just attacked than a school that gets attacked an' burned ta the ground."
*Justin*
He nodded.
"That's nice," he said quietly. "Did you.. er.. spend it with Alex?"
*Kat*
Looking at the floor, she nodded as she kept fiddling to keep her hair behind her ear.
"Um... yeah... Ah didn't have 'nough money fer a plane ticket home an' Alex offered an' all, so..."
Biting her lip, she sighed.
"Justin... We... we needa talk..."
*Justin*
He nodded.
"Yeah.. we do.. look, we, er, well...um.. this isn't really working out, is it?" he asked.
*Kat*
Sighing a bit in relief, she nodded her head.
"Yeah... Ah mean, Ah meant ta talk ta ya 'bout all this, but... well... ya know, a lot of shit happened with Tom an' all."
Sighing again, she managed to look up and meet Justin's eyes.
"Justin, yer really nice an' all, but... well... It's not working out..."
*Justin*
He nodded.
"I kind of figured.. I mean.. you didn't write once after you left..." he said with a shrug. Holding out his hand, he managed a soft smile.
"Friends?"
*Kat*
She smiled bashfully.
"Ah meant ta... But things got busy an' then Ah got a lot on my mind an'... well... ya know how it gets..."
Sighing again, she smiled in relief as she relaxed and took Justin's hand.
"Friends. An' fellow prefects. Although Ah got no clue what McGonagall was smokin' when she gave the position ta me."
*Justin*
He smirked slightly.
"I don't know. Maybe it's just taking her awhiel to get used to the postition.." he said with a small laugh.
*Kat*
She laughed as she brushed her hair over her shoulder.
"Maybe. Maybe she spent a bit too long as a cat too. Fried her brains a little too much," she joked.
*Justin*
"Always possible," he said, chuckling slightly before fidgeting.
"Listen, I, er, promised Hannah that I'd meet her by the courtyard to go walk by the lake. But it was good to talk to you and all. Get everything sorted out. You're a great girl, Kat. You'll make some guy really lucky."
*Kat*
Smiling softly, she took a step forward and hugged Justin.
"Ah'm glad we got to talk too. You're gonna make some girl really happy, Justin."
Stepping back, she laughed.
"Now go on an' meet Hannah. Wouldn't want her ta get worried or jealous or somethin'," she teased.
*Justin*
He smiled softly.
"Thanks," he said quietly as he smiled at her before turning and heading down the hallway. Well, that was one thing taken care of. And one thing that Hannah would stop nagging him about.
*Kat*
She sighed in relief as she watched Justin go. Well, that went a lot better than she had planned. Thank God. She smiled to herself as she hurried down the hallway. And now with that business over and done with, she could really enjoy herself over in Ravenclaw.
