*Hermione*
Sitting in one of the big comfortable chairs in the Gryffindor common room, she sighed as she gazed blankly at her ancient runes book. It had only been a few minutes. There was no need to get worried just yet. After all, he may not have gotten this owl yet either. Hearing someone coming down the stairs to the boys' dorm, she couldn't help but look disappointed when it was just Harry. She sighed again. Oh, but Harry might have seen Ron up there. Putting her book aside, she got up and walked over to Harry, a slight bounce in her step.
"Hello Harry. Have you seen Ron anywhere?"
*Harry*
"He's upstairs, but this isn't the best of times." Harry said apologetically.
*Hermione*
Biting her lip, she looked at Harry nervously.
"Practice went alright, right? You didn't have to fire him from the team, did you? He always does take quidditch rather seriously. Not as bad as Oliver, but I'd imagine he'd be heartbroken if he were off the team."
*Harry*
"No, I'm sorry to say dear, but it's not me." Harry said knowing this wasn't subtle, but feeling she needed to get the truth from someone. He crossed the room realizing this would it hit hard and motioned to hug her.
*Hermione*
She stared wide-eyed at Harry, her mouth gaping open a moment before she shook her head. Following Harry dumbfoundedly, she continued to shake her head.
"It.. it isn't my letters, is it? Because... Oh Harry... I don't understand what's wrong. We haven't seen each other in a month and now everything's just fallen apart!" she said, her voice bordering on a bawl.
*Harry*
"Why don't we take a walk...?" Harry said fully wrapping his arms around her and pulling her into his chest.
*Hermione*
Sniffling, she curled up slightly into Harry's arms. Nodding, she let Harry lead her along as she wiped at her eyes, trying to keep her vision clear from tears.
"I just don't understand, Harry... Has someone hexed him? He.. he was never like this before. Why can't he see how important this is?" she whimpered.
*Harry*
"What is?" Harry stopped and pulled her away from his chest and looked straight into her eyes.
*Hermione*
"Us!" she bawled. "Ron and I! After we've been through so much, how can he just say I'm coming on too strong? We've all nearly died too many times and I don't want to lose him. He's my world. Why can't he understand that? There are others that would have me. Viktor would give me the world, but it doesn't matter because Ron is the one. My one and only and I don't know what I'd do if he just left me."
*Harry*
"First let's go someplace where we can't be overheard." Harry said as he lead her out of the common room.
*Hermione*
Sniffling, she nodded as she hiccuped between sobs.
"Alright, Harry... But... Did I do something wrong? I don't understand..."
*Harry*
"In a bit..." Harry said as he lead her through the castle.
*Hermione*
Nodding again, she hiccuped as she wiped her eyes and glanced around.
"Where are we going, Harry? The room of requirement?"
*Harry*
"No, I think fresh air will do you some good."Harry said as he looked at her and gave a hesitant smile. "Maybe down by the lake?"
*Hermione*
Sniffling, she nodded as she smiled weakly.
"That sounds nice. Although I was down there for a bit."
She gave another soft sob.
"Waiting for Ron to respond to my owl..."
*Harry*
"Yes, but this time I'll be with you ad you'll actually be able to relax a little." Harry said confidently continuing to usher her from the castle.
