Who: Isabella and her new best friend, Clementine
Where: Montrose & New York City
When: Friday, November 21st after the earlier posts
What: The girls go shopping, get tipsy and get tattooed

*Clementine*
She sighed.
"Well the only people I know are in New York City... I think if we want anything more complicated than an anchor or "mother" in a heart, then Montrose is right out..."

*Isabella*
"Is there another big city around here where they might have more? I imagine London's too far away," she said.
"Anyways, I think it'd be better if you took me shopping instead of Max. I do need warmer clothes for my stay here."

: *Clementine*
She looked quite excited at the idea.
"Oh gods yes, I need to get out of this house... Kate and my mother are driving me nuts. And, well, we could go to Edinborough or Glasgow... Or any city really, I mean, we can just pop to the portkey terminal and off we go..."

*Isabella*
She brightened, not sure how long she'd manage around Forbes' family. At least Clem was nice.
"Well, you pick the city," she said with a smile. "But I'd be more than happy to go with you. And no offence to your brother, but I'm not sure he's the best at picking out clothes."

*Clementine*
She smiled.
"Well, I really only know London and New York... And yeah, my brother's fashion sense

*Isabella*
She made a face.
"All suits. Nice, but boring," she said shaking her head.
"I really don't care for London. Would you be up for the trip to New York?"

*Clementine*
She grinned.
"New York it is. Let me get my coat and we can go."

*Isabella*
"Should we tell Max?" she asked curiously, not being able to stop from smiling - Clem's grin was contagious.

*Clementine*
She shook her head.
"No, that'd mean having to deal with my mother and Kate... And Emmy's probably around now too, trying to one up Max, or tease him about being an ex-convict..."

*Isabella*
She chuckled as she grabbed her coat.
"Well, let's go get your coat and have some girl time."

*Clementine*
She picked up her coat from where she had left it on the bed.
"Let's go!"

*Isabella*
"Lead the way, Clem," she said, finally regaining a bit of the bounce in her step as she followed Clem to New York, looking around in fascination before Clem led them into a bar. Ordering a glass of rum, she glanced around.
"Reminds me of Sao Paulo.."

*Clementine*
She ordered a beer and smiled at Isabella.
"Really? I'd think Sao Paulo would be more exotic than this.. But I guess all cities look the same after a while..."

*Isabella*
She shrugged.
"Rio's a lot different, but Sao Paulo is mostly business, with a bit of partying thrown in," she explained, gulping down the rum when it came and ordering another. She hadn't had a drink since before Fernando died, well, except for the stuff at the funeral.
"You'd like Rio, I think. Or Salvador, in the north. Very artsy and cultural. "

: *Clementine*
She drank her beer and thought about that.
"Yeah? I wouldn't mind traveling and all that... Should do more of it, maybe once this money comes in..."

*Isabella*
She tossed back the second rum with a grin.
"You'd love it there. The colors, the people," she said. "It's beautiful. Like you."

*Clementine*
She laughed and blushed just a bit.
"Yeah? Well I'll make that my destination then. And of the two of us, you are the beautiful one, not me..."

*Isabella*
"Nonsense," she teased. "You... you have a certain something about you. It radiates in a way. I mean, hell, when I saw you, we just got on so well, you can just sense the artist. "

*Clementine*
She snorted slightly and dismissed that thought with a wave.
"Please, you're like a fashion model... You should be in magazines..."

: *Isabella*
She chuckled and blushed.
"Thanks," she said.
"Owe it to my parents, I suppose. "

*Clementine*
She laughed.
"Yeah, I owe it to my parents too... But more to my dad than my mom, I think..."

*Isabella*
"Was he the one with the dashing good looks that seem to run in your family?" she asked, signaling the waiter for another rum.

*Clementine*
She laughed a little louder and ordered another beer.
"Yeah, if you like men..."

*Isabella*
"Well, I've only seen you and Forbes, but you do seemed to do alright in the looks department," she said with a smile.
"So, figured out what you're going to get?"

*Clementine*
She looked at her oddly.
"Another beer is fine with me... Oh you mean for a tattoo... Oh, well, I hadn't put a lot of thought into it... Hmmmm..."

*Isabella*
She stood up and turned around, pulling down her skrit a bit to show the tattoo on her hip.
"That's the other one, the first one we got. Had them magically linked," she explained.

*Clementine*
She nodded as she examined it in the dim light of the bar.
"S'very nice... You know some good tat artists, that's for sure..."

*Isabella*
"The elders did this one too," she said, the rum having loosened her tongue a bit more.
"OOooh..! More liquor!" she said excitedly as the barkeep returned with their drinks.

: *Clementime*
She laughed and started on her second beer.
"Yeah, more liquor... Maybe you should slow down a bit..."

*Isabella*
"I'm fine, I'm Brazilian!" she announced triumphantly. "Besides, my brother was murdered, I got kicked out the country I was living in and now I'm back in that frozen country hoping to not get caught and stuck at my boyfriend's father's funeral and I don't even know if he loves me," she said, resting her head in her hands.

*Clementine*
She blinked unexpectedly at the end of her proclamation.
"Errr... well... I'll drink to that then..."

*Isabella*
"Meu Deus.. Just forget what I said, Clem, please. Forbes can't know," she said.

: *Clementine*
She sipped at her beer.
"Well... I mean... He must love you... It's not like he's ever brought any other girl home... Not even some drunken townie for a tumble or something..."

*Isabella*
She shrugged.
"He came to Brazil, suffered through the rituals, I'm sure he does... but I actually said it and he didn't say it back. He's the first boyfriend I'v had. My parents didn't really let me date and I don't know what the hell I'm doing with your brother," she said running her hand through her hair. Leaving some money on the table, she grabbed Clem's hand and dragged her towards the door.
"Let's go get inked."

*Clementine*
"Urk!"
She was quickly jerked to her feet and pulled towards the door, she managed to get her beer downed on the way. Isabella was surprisingly strong, she thought.
"Inked? Are you sure?"

*Isabella*
"Of course, this is New York, there's got to be a tattoo parlor around here somewhere and it'd be fun to get a plain muggle one for a change," she said as she looked at the shops they were passing.
"OOh! I think I see one up ahead!"

*Clementine*
She laughed as she followed along behind her.
"All right, yeah, this one's good... The ones in this neighborhood are usually a pretty safe bet..."

*Isabella*
She chuckled as she went into the tattoo parlor and glanced around.
"Now I just need to figure out what I'm going to get," she said, looking at the designs on the wall.

*Clementine*
She nodded and scanned the wall with her.
"You want something for your back right? You should get something nice and scripty, almost... Kinda tribal, but kinda not... Because that's you..."

*Isabella*
She turned to Clem.
"You're an artist! You could draw me something!" she said with excitement.

*Clementine*
She nodded and smiled.
"Oh yeah, I could definitely do that... Have they got any paper around here..."

*Isabella*
She grabbed a flyer from the counter and flipped it over to the blank side.
"Will this work?" she asked, wondering what Clem would draw for her.

*Clementine*
She nodded and pulled a pen out of her purse, drawing the vague outline of a back and then pondering it a moment.
"Thinking... Thinking..."

*Isabella*
She chuckled, leaning on the counter as she watched Clem. She was definitely cute. Fernando would have liked her. Twirling her hair around her finger, she smiled a bit goofily. But Clem was Forbes' sister and she didn't think he was the type to understand.

*Clementine*
She puzzled over the paper, adding swirls and lines with areas of detail here and there. After a few minutes she held the paper up to Isabella.
"There. What do you think of that... Kind of a streamlined tribal thing... It should run the length of your back and just meet up with the other over here..."

*Isabella*
She rested her head on Clem's shoulder, looking at the design and tracing it with her finger.
"It's beautiful, Clem. I love it!" she said excitedly.

*Clementine*
She smiled.
"You think so? I mean... It'd be a pretty big honour, no one's ever liked my work enough before to wear it... But I think it suits you... and will work with the tattoos you already have..."

*Isabella*
She kissed Clem on the cheek.
"It's marvelous, querida" she announced, taking the sheet of paper over to the tattoo artist and explaining what she wanted.
"What are you going to get Clem. You need to get something."

*Clementine*
She laughed.
"All right, all right... you get yours and let me work on designing mine, OK?"

*Isabella*
She nodded, grinning as she blew Clem a kiss and followed the artist to the back, closing her eyes as the tattoo artist went to work on her back. Once the tattoo was done, she went back to the front, holding her shirt over her chest before turning around and showing Clem her back.
"Beautiful, isn't it?"

*Clementine*
She smirked at the raw red, occasionally bloody skin.
"It'll be a lot more beautiful once it heals.. But I like it..."

*Isabella*
She pulled her shirt and sweater on before turning to Clem.
"So, figured out what you're going to get yet?" she asked curiously, healing the tattoo.

Clementine*
She showed the design she drew on another piece of paper to Isabella.
"What do you think? It'll kind of match yours... in honour of the occasion..."

*Isabella*
"Ooooh, very nice," she said appreciatively. "Where are you going to have it done?"

*Clementine*
She smiled sheepishly.
"Right at the base of my spine I think..."

*Isabella*
She smiled.
"Oh, that'll look incredibly sexy..." she said with an appreciative smile.

*Clementine*
She blushed a little.
"Yeah? Well, let's hope the boys think the same thing!"

*Isabellla*
"Oh, I'm sure they will," she reassured Clem. "Do you have someone?" she asked curiously.

*Clementine*
She shook her head.
"No one in particular. Go me, I'm a modern independent woman."
Her tone indicated that perhaps she wouldn't mind being a little less independent.

*Isabella*
She chuckled.
"Don't worry, I was that way up until recently. Never dated, never cared about that and then well, I met Forbes, and well..."
She shrugged and sighed.
"Things never end up how you expect."

*Clementine*
She laughed and nodded.
"No, they invariably don't."

*Isabella*
"Want me to go with you to the back?" she asked curiously. "The first one can be a bit intimidating."

: *Clementine*
She shook her head.
"Nah, something a person's got to do for themselves..."

: *Isabella*
She chuckled.
"Got it. I'll just wait here then," she said with a smile as she went over and sat down in one of the chairs and flipped through a magazine.

Clementine*
She smiled and waved goodbye as she disappeared into the back of the tattoo parlor. Sometimes and several shrieks later she hobbled her way back out.
"Ow! Ow! Every step I take hurts! Ow!"

*Isabella*
She paid for both the tattoos. Might as well waste Alessandra's money.
"It'll get better," she said, wrapping an arm around Clem's waste and swallowing as she let the healing warmth seep into Clem's lower back, hoping the girl wouldn't freak.

*Clementine*
She sighed softly.
"Yeah, OK, it's getting better... Feels a little warm back there though, I hope it's not infected or something... You didn't have to pay you know, my family's not exactly hurting for money..."

*Isabella*
She chuckled.
"I'll take a look at it when we get back, make sure it's not infected," she reassured Clem.
"Don't worry about it. My treat. It's on my aunt," she said with a smirk.

*Clementine*
She nodded.
"Thanks Bella..."
She laughed and smiled.
"Well then thank your aunt for me..."

*Isabella*
She laughed, knowing she had no plans to talk to Alessandra anytime soon.
"So, shall we head back? Think they're missing us yet?" she asked curiously.

*Clementine*
She nodded.
"Yeah, we probably should... they're five hours ahead of us too, remember..."

*isabella*
She giggled, remembering the time difference when she'd gone to Damian's after brunch.
"Yeah. That'd be a good idea. What are your brother's like? Are they married?"

*Clementine*
She shook her head.
"No. Larry likes to play the field... Afraid to settle down..."
She whispered conspiratorially.
"There are rumours that he has it off with the occasional patient... Emmy's even worse than Max about sticking his nose in a book... The only women he likes are two dimensional illustrations. And Kate's holding out for the richest, most famous suitor no doubt.."

*Isabella*
She nodded, reminding herself to keep the pheromones under wraps this weekend. This was a funeral, after all.
"So Max is the only one who brought someone home?" she asked as they made their way to the portkey terminal.
"Makes me feel a bit awkward," she said, running her fingers through her hair.

: *Clementine*
She shrugged.
"Well, officially... I think Kate's latest bit of rough trade is supposed to show up for the funeral itself... As is Larry's latest conquest... But apparently Forbes is the only one of us in a stable relationship... So don't feel awkward... At least not until after Kate tries to humiliate you..."

: *Isabella*
"She's that vicious?" she asked nervously. "Why can't the rest of your family be more like you?"

*Clementine*
She laughed.
"Oh didn't you know? I'm the black sheep of the family? Or would be if I wasn't the eldest daughter. The boys were expected to be the biggest and best of everything, I was allowed to do as I pleased... And Kate just bought into the competition more than I did..."

*Isabella*
"I thought Max was the black sheep," she said, glad that at least one of Max's siblings was normal.

*Clementine*
She nodded.
"Yeah, I'm my mother's unofficial favourite... They just shake their head at me and let me go my merry way... Max on the other hand is a dreaded underachiever... And that whole Azkaban thing, even if it was bullshit. I like to think he does that to spare me the horror of being the black sheep... But he's independent is all, just like me..."

: *Isabella*
She chuckled.
"I just can't see Max as an underachiever," she said, shaking her head as they reached the terminal and went back to Montrose.
"Think you could side-along apparate me back to the manor? I don't really have my bearings here yet," she said, not sure if Alessandra had put a trace on her wand.

*Clementine*
She nodded.
"Oh, of course... Take my hand and we're off."

*Isabella*
She smiled as she gripped Clem's hand before feeling the familiar pop of apparition and reappearing at the manor. Heading inside, she smiled.
"I'm just going to go put this stuff upstairs and change into one of the new outfits," she said with a smile.

*Clementine*
She nodded.
"I'll go check in with mom... See what the deal with dinner is... See ya in a bit, OK?"

*Isabella*
She nodded.
"Although I think I only know where yours and Max's rooms are.." she said with a sheepish smile as she headed up the staircase.

*Clementine*
She laughed.
"Yeah, me too.. Just be glad my mom inherited the small manor..."

*Isabella*
She laughed.
"Should I even bother trying to find the kitchen or just sit tight in Max's room?" she asked.

*Clementine*
She laughed again, Isabella was so cute sometimes.
"We'll send a search party to fetch you."

*Isabella*
"Sounds good," she said with a smile as she headed to Max's room and unpacked her purchases, making a face at the dress she'd purchased for the funeral. Well, it was certainly conservative and long sleeved - and a far cry from anything she'd normally wear. Changing out her clothes, she paused to admire her back in the mirror before changing into one of the new, exceedingly warm outfits she'd bought with Alessandra's money.
