Wed, Nov 19, afternoon at the Ministry - Interrogation time

Oct 19, 2006 11:54

Who: Rufus Scrimgeour, Nymphadora Tonks, and Sven-ette Reilly
When: Wednesday, November 19, afternoon
Where: Rufus' office at the Ministry for Magic
What: Tonks shows up to Sven's quarters to take him to the Ministry. Rufus questions Sven.

*Tonks*
She knocked on the door to the boys' quarters. She could open it if she needed to, but she didn't see the reason to make this more difficult.
"Sven? You in there?"

*Sven*
Groaning slightly at the knock on the door, she blinked her eyes open. Stretching, she grinned contently before pulling the sheet around herself and heading towards the door.
"Yeah, I'm in here," she called through the door. "What's up?"

*William*
She groaned and stretched, looking up at the knock as rested her weight on her elbows.

*Tonks*
"It's Tonks," she called through the door. "You’re wanted for questioning down at the Ministry. I get to escort you down there."

*Sven*
Opening the door a little bit, she sighed.
"You're kidding, right?"

*Tonks*
She raised an eyebrow at the sheet. Well, at least someone wasn't running around and cursing the fact that their gender had been changed. Running her hand through her pink hair, she shook her head.
"I'm afraid not. Your name was mentioned at the attacks and they want to question you. "

*Sven*
She sighed tiredly as she ran a hand through her hair.
"Can I have a moment to clean up and get dressed?"

*Tonks*
"Of course. I'll be right out here," she said, turning around and waiting.

*Sven*
Shutting the door, she sighed again before looking at Will.
"Guess I'm going to the Ministry then..."

*William*
She got up and wrapped her arms around Sven.
"Want me to come with? Moral support or some rot?"

*Sven*
Shaking her head, she huffed out a sigh as she relaxed into Will's arms.
"No, ya don't have to. They only want me to come in, mate. I wouldn't want them to think you're mixed up in this as well."

*William*
She ran her fingers through Sven's hair and yawned.
"You sure you're up for this, mate?" she asked worriedly.

Sven*
Smiling softly, she nodded before leaning in to nuzzle Will's cheek tenderly.
"I think I can handle a few questions, mate. Ya got my energy up well. Ya, on the other hand, should rest some more."

*William*
She blushed at the memory.
"I'm fine," she said with a small smile.
"Just take your floo parchment... and let me know if you need me, okay?" she asked.

*Sven*
Smiling softly, she brushed her lips against Will's before nodding.
"I will. Don't worry," she said softly before sighing. "I wish there was time 'nough for a shower..."

*William*
She smiled against the kiss.
"I'm sure you could hop in there quickly. Shouldn't take too long if I don't distract you..."

*Sven*
She laughed before smirking at Will.
"Aw, but what's the point of a shower if ya aren't there to distract me?" she teased before walking over to get her wand.

*William*
She chuckled.
"To get clean?" she asked with a smile as she sat down on the bed and tried not to worry.

*Sven*
Doing a cleaning spell on herself, she tossed the sheet back onto the bed before rumaging around to find something a bit more subdued to wear to the Ministry.
"But where's the fun in that if there isn't company," she teased again as she held up a shirt to see if it would fit alright.

*William*
She used the sheet to cover herself up, knowing she wouldn't be able to sleep if Sven wasn't in the bed.
"Might try another shirt. Don't want to fall out while you're there."

*Sven*
She blushed slightly as she tossed the shirt aside and sighed.
"I know. I'm trying to find something a bit more appropriate than what I've been wearing lately."

*William*
"Do you want to wear my robes? Charm them to fit?" she asked.

*Sven*
She frowned slightly as she put her bra on before looking at Will curiously.
"Do ya think that'd be the best way to go?"

*William*
"It might. You're going to the Ministry. Might as well look the part of a wizard," she said with a shrug.

*Sven*
She laughed softly as she shook her head.
"That'll be a first," she teased before smirking at Will. "Alright then. Robe me up! I guess we'll have to use some of your robes. All I got is my school robes and my dress robes."

*William*
"You might want to put on a pair of boxers," she said, blushing slightly before going to rummage through the wardrobe for robes that would good on Sven. Choosing a fairly simple green robe, she held it out.
"Mind looking like a Slytherin or do you want something else?"

*Sven*
Going to grab some boxers, she rolled her eyes playfully as she pulled them on.
"Spoil sport," she teased before looking at the robe and taking it from Will. "Ooo, this is nice. I'm fine with this. If I really cared that much 'bout looking like a Slytherin, I would stop wearing your clothes."
Holding the robe up against her, she frowned slightly.
"What would be the best way to do adjustments?"

*William*
"Just hold it like that," she said as she bit her lip and concentrated while waving her wand. She made the chest larger and the waist smaller so that it'd have a bit of shape.
"Try it on now."

*Sven*
Slipping the robe on, she smoothed it down and turned around for Will to look at it.
"Does it look good?"

*William*
She smiled appreciatively.
"Yeah, looks good," she said as she stepped closer and hugged Sven tightly.
"Be careful, mate."

*Sven*
Hugging Will back, she smiled softly.
"I will, mate. Besides, Tonks'll be with me so it can't be too bad."

*William*
She nodded and pulled back.
"Best not to keep her waiitng then..." she said with a smile.

*Sven*
Pecking Will on the cheek, she went and grabbed her floo parchment and a pen and stuff it into her robe before heading out into the hallway and smiling a bit sheepishly at Tonks.
"So, how we getting to the Ministry then?"

*Tonks*
"Portkey," she said, pulling out a small piece of metal.
"Ready?" she asked.

*Sven*
She sighed tiredly.
"Ready as I'll ever be for this."

*Tonks*
"Then grab on," she said with a smile, trying to remain cheerful.

*Sven*
Taking a deep breath, she looked back at the door to his and Will's room before taking a firm hold of the piece of metal.

*Tonks*
She tapped the metal with her wand to activate it before it lurched both of them into the lobby of the Ministry. Speaking to the receptionist, she got Sven a visitors badge before holding out her hand.
"I'll need your wand," she said apologetically.

*Sven*
She looked a bit warily at Tonks before sighing and pulling out her wand and giving it to Tonks.
"Just as long as I get it back after this," she muttered slightly.

*Tonks*
"You will. It's just procedure. Beefed up security here since the attacks on London," she said, leading Sven to Rufus' office. Knocking on the door, she waited.

*Rufus*
Opening the door, he smiled.
"Come in, Mister Reilly," he said, nodding to Tonks who said she'd wait outside.

*Sven*
Looking back at Tonks, she sighed as she walked into the room and looked around a bit warily.
"I was told that I was needed for questioning here."

*Rufus*
He nodded.
"Please, have a seat, Mister Reilly. Can I get you something to drink perhaps?" he asked smoothly, running his fingers over the desk and thinking that he’d seen those robes before. Oh, how this could be fun.

*Sven*
She shook her head as she sat down and smoothed out Will's robes over her lap.
"No thanks. I'm fine for the moment."

*Rufus*
He nodded, taking a seat a bit awkwardly, having exaggerated the limp just a little.
"Now, Mister Reilly... or should I call you Miss Reilly, given the current circumstances... this will be recorded, " he said, motioning to the dict-o-quill scribbling away. "For Ministry records of course."

*Sven*
Frowning a bit at the other man's walk, she rolled her eyes.
"Mister or Miss doesn't matter to me," she said before smirking. "And I doubt I have much choice in being recorded for this."

*Rufus*
"Well, then, Mister Reilly. I'm sure you don't mind telling me when and why you went to Durmstrang's library and what books you borrowed?" he asked.

*Sven*
She sighed as she ran a hand through her hair.
"We went to Durmstrang's library to look for books that might help us stop the Calling if it happened. Hogwarts library really doesn't have anything 'bout stuff like that 'cause it's so dark, so we went to Durmstrang to see what they had," she said with a shrug.

*Rufus*
"Which books did you take?" he asked curiously.

*Sven*
She shrugged again.
"I can't really remember all the titles. They were mostly works focusing on Dark Creatures and how to deal with 'em. One or two intensive Dark magic books, but that's 'bout it. Maybe had 10 books or so."

*Rufus*
"And the reason why you did not return these books after the calling?" he prompted.

*Sven*
She rolled her eyes slightly.
"Considering everything that happened with the Calling and everyone getting sent home early from school, I forgot 'bout 'em. When ya have a bunch of books just sitting in the bottom of a trunk ya only use when you're at school, they kinda slip your mind when you're at home."

*Rufus*
"Did you receive any prior warning from Durmstrang to return the books?" he asked.

*Sven*
She shook her head.
"No. The first 'warning' I got was the Headmaster busting in with his tiger things demanding that we give the books back."

*Rufus*
"I see..." he said, running a hand over his hair.
"There's also this matter of your connection with Maxmillian Forbes. Could you tell me about the ... altercation you had with him?"

*Sven*
She shrugged again.
"If ya mean this crap those changelings were saying 'bout me beating him up, I'm not sure what they're talking 'bout or why they're coming after me."

*Rufus*
"When was the last time you saw Mister Forbes?" he asked.

*Sven*
She frowned a bit in thought. Forbes technically was a cleared man, at least according to him, but who knew if that was the truth. If they actually went to question him and the time of meetings wasn't the same...
"A week ago, I think. I think it was last Thursday or something."

*Rufus*
He nodded.
"Mister Reilly. I am the Minister of Security and I highly appreciate being told the complete truth," he said, levelling his gaze at the blond sitting in front of him.
"You seemed to cooperate well enough with Black, I only ask that you show me the same courtesy. What exactly happened at this meeting with Maxmillian Forbes?"

.*Sven*
She looked innocently at Rufus even as her stomach twisted a bit at learning who she was really talking to.
"Mister Black is also a friend of mine and usually gives me the courtesy of coming to see me in person if he had questions rather than dragging me all the way to his office in the Ministry," she pointed out before shrugging. "Forbes pretended to be some Ministry official and pulled me out of Hogwarts for 'questioning'. Apparently he needed my help babysitting this friend of his, although why he called on me, I'm still not sure."

*Rufus*
"You'll forgive if my schedule does not permit me to travel extensively. I haven't been home since before my nephew's funeral," he explained.
"Mister Forbes was cleared by the Ministry, but do you know why he would pretend to be a Ministry official?" he quipped. "This friend of his - would it happen to be a changeling?"

*Sven*
She frowned a bit.
"Your nephew died? I'm sorry to hear 'bout that," she said sincerely before shaking her head. "I don't know why he'd pretend to be one. Maybe because he thought it was the easiest way to get me out of Hogwarts with the fewest questions."
Raising her eyebrows a bit in surprise, she nodded.
"Yes. His friend was a changeling girl. Looked like she was in her late teens."

*Rufus*
"Did you happen to get the name of this changeling girl? Or know what type she is? I understand you are part changeling yourself," he said simply.

*Sven*
She tensed unwillingly before shaking her head. She knew that saying that Aggie was a raven changeling would immediately put them at the Tower of London considering what Forbes had said about their dwindling numbers.
"No. She was in human form most of the time, so it was hard to tell," she said softly.

*Rufus*
"Most of the time? What did she morph into?" he asked, raising an eyebrow when Sven tensed.

*Sven*
She blinked at Rufus before making a bit of a face.
"I meant all of the time. If she had transformed in front of me, it would have been easy as pie to tell what she was. Animals aren't that hard to identify."

*Rufus*
"You should be careful with your words, Mister Reilly. Especially when being questioned. I'd hate to think you were lying to me.." he said, trailing off a bit.

*Sven*
She blinked at Rufus before making a bit of a face.
"I meant all of the time. If she had transformed in front of me, it would have been easy as pie to tell what she was. Animals aren't that hard to identify."

• *Rufus*
"You should be careful with your words, Mister Reilly. Especially when being questioned. I'd hate to think you were lying to me.." he said, trailing off a bit.

*Sven*
She tilted her head a bit curiously at Rufus.
"Why would I lie to the Minister of Security?"

*Rufus*
"People often lie when they have something to hide.." he said, his voice almost purring as he got up and limped to the cabinet where he poured himself a glass of water and sipped it.
"Where did Mister Forbes take you?"

*Sven*
She raised an eyebrow slightly at Rufus' voice before shaking her head slightly.
"He took me to where his friend lived. I'm not sure where. I don't know this country that well."

*Rufus*
He nodded.
"You haven't travelled much, then have you?" he asked.

*Sven*
She shook her head.
"Just Hogwarts, Will's home, a few trips to Stonehenge, a few trips to London, and a few trips to Edinburgh. Nothing to really write home about."

*Rufus*
"Will? That would be William Mallory the Fourth, wouldn't it? I believe I heard word of your... liaison with him," he said, saying the word distastefully. "It would seem you've both had your brushes with the law.."

*Sven*
Frowning, she nodded slightly.
"We're engaged if that's what ya mean by liaison," she said before smirking slightly. "And who hasn't had a brush with the law over the past few years?"

*Rufus*
"The majority of Britain has managed to stay clear of the law, Mister Reilly," he said.
"Engaged. Well, seems strange to use that word since it's not actually legal for two men to wed," he said, not being able to stop the disdain in his voice.
"Once we're done, Tonks can lead you to the werewolf registration office so you can get registered."

*Sven*
She rolled her eyes slightly.
"The majority of Hogwarts, at least the seventh years, haven't," she pointed out.
Bristling slightly, she scowled.
"Well, I suppose that we'll just be having a brush with the law regarding that too," she said before shaking her head and looking confusedly at Rufus. "Why would I register? I'm not a werewolf."

*Rufus*
He raised an eyebrow, trying to refrain from smirking.
"Didn't you read the paper this morning, Mister Reilly? The Ministry has extended the registration act to include all partial and full dark creatures. Including changeling. You have until the first of January to register voluntarily."

*Sven*
She frowned as she shook her head.
"I've been a bit too busy to get a hold of a paper," she muttered, her fists clenching at her sides. "And if I don't do it voluntarily by then?"

Rufus*
"Then the Ministry shall assist you in registering..." he said.

*Sven*
She quirked an eyebrow at Rufus.
"Oh. And will they actually give me British citizenship when they're registering me under the British Ministry?"

*Rufus*
"Don't be silly," he said. "But if you don't register, it'll be much easier to deport you."

*Sven*
She rolled her eyes as she stood up.
"It's nice to see that all governments are the same. Are we done here?"

*Rufus*
He went over and examined the parchment.
"For the moment, yes," he said simply. "But we may call upon you in the future."

*Sven*
She snorted.
"Good luck with that," she muttered as she headed to the door.

*Rufus*
He smirked and watched as Sven left, complimenting himself on how he'd handled that situation.

*Tonks*
Seeing Sven come out, she went towards him.
"Everything alright? No charges?"

*Sven*
She looked a bit surprised at Tonks.
"Why would I be charged with anything?" she sighed before shaking her head slightly. "Things could be better."

*Tonks*
She shrugged.
"Rufus sent for you to be questioned himself. Your name was mentioned at the attacks. They seem to be trigger-happy her lately," she said dropping her voice as she led Sven back to the lobby.

*Sven*
She sighed as she followed Tonks.
"Yeah, no kidding. I heard 'bout Sirius... Just got to hear 'bout the lovely Registration Act too right now," she muttered.

*Tonks*
She made a face.
"You didn't know?" she asked incredulously. "Sorry.. figured you'd read the paper or something..."

*Sven*
She made a face.
"No. We didn't get to read the paper this morning. Went off and visited Sirius first thing and all and... we were a bit too busy when we got back to Hogwarts."

*Tonks*
She nodded, taking the badge from him as they reached the reception desk.
"I'm supposed to escort you back to the castle. Keep the kidlets safe and all, you understand.

*Sven*
She rolled her eyes before smirking slightly.
"Oh, but I'm the sort of thing you're supposed to be keeping 'em safe from," she said sarcastically before sighing and nodding. "Yeah, I understand. No more bad stuff can go down and all. I got it."

*Tonks*
She gave him a hopeful smile as she nudged him towards a fireplace.
"We're flooing back to Hogwarts."

*Sven*
She made a bit of a face.
"Where in Hogwarts? Can we go right to our room?" she asked hopefully.

*Tonks*
"It comes out by the great Hall," she explained.
"Sorry."

*Sven*
She sighed before smiling softly at Tonks.
"It's alright. Better in Hogwarts than having to walk from Hogsmeade."

*Tonks*
She chuckled.
"Ugh, I hate that walk. Especially when it's wet and cold..." she said making a face.
"Go on then. You get your wand on the other side. "

*Sven*
She laughed before smirking and winking at Tonks.
"But it's always wet and cold," she teased before heading into the floo and heading back to Hogwarts.

*Tonks*
She laughed and followed Sven through the floo, handing him his wand back once they were in Hogwarts.
"True, but we are in Scotland."

*Sven*
She nodded as she stuck her wand back into her robe.
"Yeah. That was one good thing about Rivendell. It hardly ever got wet and cold."

*Tonks*
She smiled.
"Sounds nice. Well, I'll see you around. Stay out of trouble."

*Sven*
She laughed.
"I'll try, but ya better tell trouble to stay away from me too," she teased.

*Tonks*
"Will do," she said with a grin.
