Who: Aleesandra and Forbes
When: Tuesday, November 11, afternoon after Forbes discovers Isabella's not at his flat
Where: The Ministry, London,
What: Forbes gets a little upset about a missing kitty, Alessandra grabs him by the balls
*Forbes*
"I tell you I have unlimited access now get out of my way..."
Forbes was storming his way down a corridor of the Ministry, leaving a throng of startled secretaries, bureaucrats, and minor security guards in his wake. He had, of course, refused the inspection at the entrance, waving his "credentials" around and then marched in. If nothing else bureaucracy was terrible at dealing with sudden sharp jolts to the system.
"That's all well and good sir, but..." Forbes cut the security man off. "I work for Scrimgeour. Co-Minister Scrimgoeur... You know the chap, tall, arrogant, vaguely lion-esque? He shits bigger than you. No shove off and let the adults get some work done before I have you fired.."
Forbes smiled to himself. It was really almost too easy. With all Magical Law Enforcement departments being torn in every direction and a general lack of aurors about meant that they had been dragging folks out of retirement village and the training centres to man "non-essential" posts... The gentleman Forbes had just sent scampering fell into the latter division. At last he came to the door to Scrimgoeur's office and entered, closing the door behind him. He set both his palms on Alessandra's desk and leaned over, doing his best to effect a menacing scowl.
"Where is she?"
*Alessandra*
She looked up and smiled, running her hand over Forbes' cheek.
"Who? Umbridge? Probably in some meeting or other. Hopefully getting killed," she said, chuckling.
*Forbes*
He pulled away.
"Where did you send Isabella? What god-awful thing do you have her doing now?"
*Alessandra*
She smiled and stood up.
"She has work to do. All of us do," she said enigmatically.
"Did you need some assistance? I'd be happy to oblige.."
*Forbes*
He stood up, keeping his distance.
"I just want to know where you sent her..."
*Alessandra*
"I don't see why that's so important. She goes where she's needed. Maxmillian... I already told you, I agreed to your terms - she's not working for Madame Giselle anymore," she said, stepping closer to Forbes.
"She's only working for me and Rufus now."
*Forbes*
He glared.
"As much as I appreciate that small concession... I was hoping to use her services myself... And before you say anything snide, I meant on a research project... I have an important meeting and could have used some help soothing someone to assure their agreement..."
*Alessandra*
She chuckled.
"Small? Do you know how much money she could bring in if I let her work there normally? Luckily money isn't an issue, or else she'd still be working there," she said, raising her eyebrow at Forbes.
"Perhaps we should coordinate schedules in the future to make sure we don't schedule conflicts..."
*Forbes*
He shook his head.
"Please, we have access to the national budget now. We have virtually unlimited funds, whoring out our underlings is hardly good business. Even if they do fulfil a rather exotic fetish..."
He sighed.
"I don't have the time to appraise you or him about every little idea, research project, or lead that crosses my desk. I have even less time to appraise you both if you take away my assistant to have her run pointless errands."
*Alessandra*
"Trust me, her errand is far from pointless. She is meeting with one of our top... partners... relaying vital information, hopefully gleaning some, and assuring him of our intent to continue this partnership," she explained.
*Forbes*
He glared again.
"Oh gods, you've sent her to Damian, haven't you?"
*Alessandra*
"Normally I'd go myself, but things being the way they are, it's hardly fitting for the Minister's wife to disappear for a few days. Not to mention, we're working on the Dios boy, and trying to get Umbridge out of power, figure out what she's doing with the heirs and locating the rest of those nasty little horcruxes my dear niece was seeing," she explained.
"Perhaps you could reschedule your meeting?"
*Forbes*
He waved a hand.
"Another good point, we have a lot going on here at the moment and as near as I can tell Damian's being no help at all..."
He shook his head.
"The meeting needs to happen soon... If it goes well, we'll have a contingency plan to use against Umbridge's pet Heirs."
*Alessandra*
She held up her hand.
"Forbes. We'll deal with Damian after Isabella comes back. She shouldn't be gone more than a few days. Do you want me to go to your meeting? Or should I loan you Fernando?" she asked.
*Forbes*
He shook his head.
"No... Fernando might be too... Intimidating... But I appreciate it. I'll handle the meeting myself then..."
*Alessandra*
"If it can wait a few days, Isabella shouldn't be gone too long," she said. "Then you can have her for your meeting.." .
*Forbes*
"Within a few days, Adeline Colombe could go insane and destroy England... It's not that essential, I can manage without her..."
*Alessandra*
"Very well," she said with a smile.
"But in the future, do keep better tabs on her. After that fiasco on Sunday.." she trailed off, shaking her head.
*Forbes*
He nodded.
"She is a free spirit. I don't own her. I didn't, however, expect her to revert to a panther... I thought she had more self control than that..."
*Alessandra*
"The girl was petrified, Forbes. That's what halflings do in times of fear. From the police report, the unnamed prostitute was clad only in a dressing gown.." she said shaking her head.
"You may not own her, but she is in my custody while she's here. She asked to move in with you, and I agreed, but that means you are in charge of her. I will not stand for her being arrested by the muggles. If anything like Sunday happens again, I will place the blame on you, Maxmillian. "
*Forbes*
"If I'm in charge of her, why was she sent to America with out notifying me? I'm not going to be the fall guy for Isabella's irresponsibility... That comes from you."
*Alessandra*
She shrugged.
"I came over, you weren't around, I left you a note. You were notified," she said with a smile.
"Oh no. If she's my responsibility, then she comes back to live with me, works for Madame Giselle and for whatever I decide. And that would significantly lessen the time you could see her."
*Forbes*
He shook his head.
"It was your decision to bring a jungle princess to London and have her serve as a part-time whore and occasional messenger girl.. Just leave Isabella to me. I can take care of her and keep her from doing any thing else like that... I think she's learned her lesson regardless."
*Alessandra*
"She told you then?" she asked curiously.
"She was doing quite well until she took up with you.."
*Forbes*
He shrugged.
"What I couldn't figure out from elsewhere, she told me... Just leave her to me in future, Alessandra... You may think you're the queen bee around here, but your job is simple... Keep him from getting out of control. We've got a lot at stake here... I do the legwork, he's the happy shining face of the administration, Harris gives us political credibility... and you make the tea. So stop trying to be backroom dirty dealer and just make sure that we don't lose control here."
*Alessandra*
She slapped Forbes around the face.
"Let's refresh. I'm the one who saved Rufus' life and brought him back here and allowed our plan to go into motion. I'm also the one who convinced him to unfreeze your assets. Without me, you'd just be a fugitive. He never would have listened to you without me. I'm the one holding the three of you together. I do what I think is best. Is that clear?" she asked, her hand gripping Forbes' balls.
*Forbes*
He calmly reached into his pocket and pulled out his wand jabbing it into Alessandra's ribs.
"Let's refresh. I am a former Death Eater. I was the right hand man to Voldemort himself. Unlike, Malfoy or Mallory or Colombe, I got where I was by actually getting my hands dirty. I could mutter but one word now, there would be a flash of green light and you'd be dead... and I'd be in Tahiti by the time anyone missed you. Now kindly unhand my balls you crone and let's try to proceed civilly, shall we?"
*Alessandra*
She let go of his balls and stroked him through his trousers.
"Two words actually. Words I've used a few times. Although really? Why be civil when we can make this enjoyable?"
*Forbes*
He took a step back.
"You're not my type. But now that the brinkmanship is over..."
He sighed.
"Just don't get too wrapped up in being a black widow that you let something slip... I know you're important to keeping this mess together."
*Alessandra*
She chuckled.
"My, how quickly things change. I seemed to be quite your type not more than a few weeks ago.." she teased.
"Don't worry. I'll keep everything together. You just keep Isabella safe and under control."
*Forbes*
He smirked.
"It's the whole slapping and bickering thing, not such a turn on for me. I'll keep her safe, don't worry... and she should be under control... She trusts me now."
*Alessandra*
She nodded.
"Good. See that she stays that way. Did you want to speak with Rufus?" she asked.
"Or were you just here to see me?"
*Forbes*
He shook his head.
"No, just here for you, really... Missed you so. And he seemed to be busy last time I spoke to him... and I actually had important information then..."
*Alessandra*
"Thank you for that information by the way, we are putting it to good use. You know he doesn't always have the best demeanour with people.." she said with a small chuckle.
*Forbes*
He nodded.
"Oh believe me, I know... But that's why we have you, isn't it? I'm glad it's coming in handy... I hope to have more information myself soon. There's not a lot of information out there about horcruxes... I may have to make a trip to Durmstrang soon..."
*Alessandra*
She chuckled.
"I suppose I do make for better publicity," she teased. "He's just a lion that needs a bit of taming."
She arched an eyebrow.
"Oh? Planning on taking Isabella with you?"
*Forbes*
He nodded.
"You do have a way of smoothing things over, yes... and I'll leave that taming up to you... And I'd like to take her with me yes... but she hates the cold and so will detest every moment of it... It'll be up to her, I suppose."
*Alessandra*
She nodded.
"Part of how I convinced her to go to California - the warmer weather.."
*Forbes*
He shook his head.
"Well, yes, Hell has warm weather too, but we're in no rush to get there... She might have rather gone to Hell than deal with Damian..."
*Alessandra*
"She was a little reluctant, but I persuaded her. She agreed out of her own free will," she said with a smile. Well, it may have involved a bit of blackmail, but really, that was all good and fair, she added to herself.
*Forbes*
He managed a faint smile.
"Yes, you're all about free will aren't you..."
He sighed.
"Anyway... I fear I've caused enough trouble here for one day... I should get out of here before anyone else realises I'm here..."
*Alessandra*
"Completely," she said with a smile.
"No hard feelings. Just let me know when she gets back. "
*Forbes*
He arched an eyebrow.
"I'm sure you'll let me know... No doubt she'll come reporting to you first..."
*Alessandra*
She smiled, knowing it would depend on how things went in America.
"I promise not to keep her too long."
*Forbes*
He nodded.
"She'll need a rest of course..."
*Alessandra*
She laughed.
"Well, I'll leave that to you," she said with a smile.
*Forbes*
He nodded and headed for the door.
"Good day Alessandra... and good luck..."
*Alessandra*
"Good luck with your meeting.." she said with a smile.
*Forbes*
He nodded tersely and opened the door, stepping out into the hall. He put his sunglasses on and walked out...
