Okay, massive fanart dump to come later!
First, that crazy Homestuck fic, Mostly Harmless, that I'm writing?
whm_koorii is writing a fic, Phone Home, which is on a similar theme (and it is much better than mine) and we are both constantly amused by the similarities between our fics. Karkat, stranded on Earth in John's care. So many things in common, and yet, so different!
So I thought I would draw Karkat and John from our fics interacting.
Phone Home on the left, Mostly Harmless on the right.

Eventually one of them (or both of them) brings up Sollux. Immediately after, they end up crying in each other's arms. Soon enough they are complaining to each other about things like John's irritatingly blue eyes (ty marchingstuck) or the idiocy of human cinema.
(Interesting things of note, Phone Home Karkat does not have outwardly protruding ears, while Mostly Harmless Karkat has ears that look like you took a human's and just kind of... stretched it out a little bit.)
When MH!John shows PH!John the gap in his teeth, PH!John leans in to get a good look at that mouth.
Both Karkats are transfixed and totally not imagining what it would look like if both Johns started making out.
Totally.
