I went in to that article thinking "OH GOD not more academics thinking they can write about fanfic after only skimming the surface!" and came out thinking "why would you mention Snape/Harry" but also "hey, that was not badly researched, and actually I found it to be an interesting read." It's true that they don't really touch on the negative aspects of fandom, which I find to be common when people want to take serious analytical looks at fandom, but hey.
also my food stamps are back!!
I am going to buy so many gushers for otakon, you don't even know.

Also going to borrow coworker's hammer for John Egbert cosplay at Otakon.... can one carry a hammer around with them? I mean, it is a tool, not a weapon, you can carry a hammer around in public, it just seems odd.......
