I slept most of that time.

The internet is a really magical place. Not like this is news, but man. I really love seeing the wild and crazy shit other countries produce, too--and I'm not talking about just Japan!
It's not like that's the most outlandish video I've ever ( Read more... )

=P
I have the idea that when he's painting representational things, landscapes or nudes or whatevs, he is very careful to avoid getting paint on himself/his clothing, and he can spare that extra attention to himself because he doesn't give as much of a damn about what he's painting. But when he plays around with abstract painting, he gets so into it that he forgets, and he'll wipe his brush on his pants leg to clean it for another colour without even realizing, and later he doesn't recall doing that, so he's all "WTF HAPPENED TO MY PANTS!?!!11?! D= D= D="

“Everybody and their mom does non-representational, abstract art. Any jackass can throw paint on a canvas and make pretty patterns. It's like a representational painting of the figure is taboo or something--”

^ This was totally true in all my painting classes. I was one of the only people to do representational stuff. XD

Hey Sirius, your abstract paintings look kinda girly. Although I can totally see him getting super invested in his work and accidentally wiping his paintbrush on his pants. I sometimes absently scratch my nose or arm with an uncapped pen, which is about the same thing.

Haha, yeah, I'm actually paraphrasing the arguments one of my classmates made because she liked to do representational stuff and felt like people were attacking her for that choice. This is actually really interesting for me to write because I honestly am not a fan of abstract art, I prefer representational. But now I get to write Sirius struggling to realize that it's okay to want to do that, it's a legitimate choice to choose abstract over representational. And in doing so I get to play around with abstract art myself, which is... surprisingly satisfying! IDK I just like playing around with different viewpoints I guess!

Oh god, when I took painting I would get oil paints all over my hands, and in drawing class there would always be charcoal on my face. Always. I had pants that I wore to school every day we had painting class, because even if I was very careful, it seemed that by just entering the painting rooms, you were forfeiting all rights to clean clothing.

Oh man, does it really look girly? ahahaha oh god it does OTL

AAAAAHHHHH I would do that in printmaking. My class was kind of notorious for being really rowdy and not cleaning up after themselves, which sucked for me and the other few conscientious students because we'd always end up stained with colours we hadn't even used. :/ In fact, one of the reasons I'm excessively glad to do animation in university is NO MORE PAINTS AND INKS, I CAN START WEARING NICE CLOTHES AGAIN. \o/

It's a side of him that only comes out while he's painting abstract stuff, hahahahah.
