--...yells my father to my mother while pointing at my brother... ^_^;; Eccentricity is inherited, you know...
So we did end up loosing power for awhile Wednesday night/early hours of Thursday morning. Three different times. It was back on steady and strong by sunrise though. The ice is still here. We've been pretty much landlocked. My brother has been out and about in his truck...but well, testosterone and all. Most people haven't been leaving their homes unless they have to, and all the church services were canceled. *shrugs* Daddy went out yesterday afternoon to play Santa for my uncle. He sells us all our cars at a discount. Daddy is Santa for his friend's kids. Everyone is happy. Apparently Daddy in his costume was very popular among all the other drivers. ^_^ Santa drives an 80s Lincoln Towncar. Be on the lookout. LOL I was going to take pictures...only to find that my camera battery was dead and we didn't have another one. *pouts*
Yesterday and today have been quiet. We're doing our big dinner/get together tomorrow.
I did some last minute wrapping and rewatched
Samurai Champloo last night. 'Cause there's nothing that says "Peace on earth, good will toward men" like watching people have their asses and other assorted body parts handed to them on a platter. ^_^;; Don't really know why I did that as it's torturous to not have the rest. *claws at screen* I want more Mugen and Jin, do you hear me, Santa? More Mugen and Jin! Especially Mugen as he's more...animated...than Jin is and thus more entertaining. Which really reminds me that I need to preorder the dvd. I cannot wait to have it in my hot little hands so I can slo-mo the fight scenes and see exactly how Mugen's spine does the things he makes it do! *pokes
cute__nessie* You think Spike Spiegel is badass? You should watch these guys! (Doesn't hurt that it's made by the
Cowboy Bebop people... And English Mugen will be voiced by Steven Blum/David Lucas which made me go o.O;; but it could work... maybe...)
The highlight of the night was when I made the mistake of checking out
Chibi-Chuu's debut single and promptly went into convulsions. My parents wanted to know what was so funny so I cranked the volume on the speakers all the way up, much to my sleeping brother's annoyance, no doubt. Both parental units cracked up as well. I think the
Den of Iniquity has a multi-platinum diva in the making...
My mother and I snuck in some History Channel viewing before bedtime. (In the Footsteps of Jesus) We munched on cookies and completely forget to change over to the Catholic channel in time to watch the Midnight Mass. Ah well. I love the HC. The History of God or something like that is coming on in a few minutes. Must watch it!
No one has done much of anything today. We got up and opened presents.
The haul:
-
Return of the King Special Extended Edition Collector's Gift Set (the Minas Tirith is surprisingly heavy and I've already put in my order for the free complimentary slipcover to hold the trilogy)
-Banner of the Stars
I and
II complete collections
-
Jem and the Holograms season 1 & 2 boxset-
Mulan Special Edition-2 packs of highlighters
-1 box of scented markers
-2 pairs of pajamas
-a manicure set
-fluffy househoes
-a new hairbrush
I've since spent the day lazing around. I've been going through my unread book pile (finished
Sharon Shinn's Jenna Starborn and have started on
Eoin Colfer's The Supernaturalist) and I've started watching Banner of the Stars. Lafiel is drawn prettier than she was in
Crest of the Stars. Right now I'm downloading the last chapters of
Akuma de Sourou. *wallows in the upcoming fluff* I'll be buying this series when it comes out in
English in April.
I'll continue with the ficcage on Monday. Everyone will get their gift fics, I promise! It just might take a week or so.
Speaking of gifts and fics, check out the awesome Integra Hellsing "Virgin Sex on Legs" icon
esotaria made for me! So hot! *fans self* LOL Thanks, Katie! I owe you a review on the
Ranma fic. Hopefully I'll get that out tomorrow.
