My LayLay's test results are back. So Lady the love of my life is in remarkably good health for a dog her size and age--except for the little problem of the extra 10 pounds she's put on over the last year. 0_0 I had to weigh her twice because I couldn't believe what the scales were saying. She doesn't look like she's gained that much weight. The vet suggested we cut back on her feeding. The vet doesn't understand. Lady, bless her recessively ridgeless back, is a Rhodesian Ridgeback. RR=glutton. Dieting is anathema to RRs, and Lady wouldn't understand why she was getting less or different food than the other dogs.
So I've decided to embark on an exercise program with my dog since I could stand to lose some weight as well, and it's much more fun to exercise with a companion than alone. Thus yesterday I played kill-the-squeaky with her in the house and did my mother's Gazelle for 4 miles while watching 3 eps of CCS. The thing is, summer is practically here in Mississippi. Walking outside would kill us. I have the Gazelle, free weights, and a Pilates cord so I'm all set for working out indoors. But my puppy? Not so. I'm interested in looking into acquiring a doggie treadmill, but none of my usual retailers and wholesalers carry them, probably because they're associated with dog fighting. I know it's probably a stretch to ask, but does anyone (*pokes
evilpuppy as she is probably most likely to know on my flist*) know of a reputable pet supply seller, preferably one you've dealt with, that carries treadmills?
In other news...
I could've been a groupie. *whiiiiiiiineeeeessssssss*
I actually got to work today because Boss #3 was sick and Bosses #1-2 were away at some meeting. And while I was driving in to work listening to my usual station, Ken Block wanders into the studio. It turns out Sister Hazel is in town recording (they're in town quite often actually). He performed an unplugged solo version of Champagne High then...
