Rocky Horror was lots of fun, even if I had no idea what was going on with the audience script most of the time. I loved the interactive, MST3K aspect of it, and I regret not stalking around dressed like a burlesque dancer.
Today, I bought pantsuits, upping the total number of them in my closet from one to three. It took forever. Dear women's clothing manufacturers, I hate you. I know we females are indoctrinated to be ashamed of our bodies from very early ages, but you know what? I think I could deal with being confronted with my inches and sheer size if only I would be assured of clothes that fit! Men seem to survive the experience mostly intact, and they get their shopping done a hell of a lot faster. Right now I generally have to search through a range of 5 sizes. Five freaking sizes. Do you realize what kind of variance that should be really? I should be able to have an older elementary school child grafted onto me and go up five sizes, not walk out of one store and into the one next door. Standardization--do it now.
And not that I watch television much or even particularly cared for the channel, but what's up with the SyFy thing? Why wasn't Sci Fi good enough? It was so sensible given the programming content, being a universal abbreviation for science fiction and all. Never the most highbrow of channels, "SyFy" now appears to be abiding by the chat/IM school of spelling. What a shame.
Telemarketing is an evil that needs to be scoured from the earth. Earlier this week I answered my work line and was blasted by a foghorn, followed by a recorded message starting "Hello, this is your captain speaking!" It seems I'd won a cruise. I wanted to kill something.
New Megan Whalen Turner Attolia book! New Megan Whalen Turner Attolia book! I may just hyperventilate. I certainly squealed. Spring seems so much more promising now.
