Lady's Memorial

Dec 19, 2007 19:41

As y'all know, I had Lady cremated. Because the effort required to pick out a decorative urn was more than I could bear at the time, she was returned to me in a plain aluminum travel urn. I spent several days talking to people in the RR community about choosing urns/memorial boxes, googling, and browsing various sites. There's actually quite a lot of things to choose from out there, and really, any sealable receptacle will do. I decided that I wanted her likeness on the urn though and ultimately chose to go with laser engraving on a black marble inset in a wooden box from Pets in Stone. I placed the order late Sunday night, and this afternoon, I got my proof back for review and my approval.

The additional text is my favorite line from Antoine de Saint-Exupery's The Little Prince. It's always had great personal significance for me.
