Last night SyFy showed the final episodes of Caprica. It's a shame -- the conclusion of the season (and the series) had impressive character and plot development. Maybe if they hadn't meandered so much earlier in the series, the show would have survived. When Caprica seemed to have a clear idea of where it was going it was great TV. But as you said, it wandered too much and I ended up needing to be in the right kind of mood to watch the show.

Hopefully "Being Human" will get a fair shake.

Hmmmm. So Larry Albo will have a considerable amount of space in the next novel, and so will somoene called Mary. The only Mary I can think of is Ms.Shirtliffe, and it would be nearly as interesting if it turned out that she is called by her first name a lot. Who would be doing it, and why?

Dang. That's me again - it's a by-product of having a stinking godawful Dell laptop that will not even close properly. So I have to shut it down by switching off the electricity; so it never saves my settings; so I have to log in again every time; so I forget to... and so it goes.

Er, I think Mary refers to Mary Dearborn, Darla's younger sister.

That is of great interest in itself, if you are right. But it might be both, which would explain why there is so much Mary.

'Brian stars' stuck out to me. I've always had the feeling he'd have a moment of awesome. I've always wondered how muggle friends/siblings/spouses deal successfully with the magical world and I'm yet to see one(so I'm writing a couple).
I would love to see how you do it, if you do it.

1) "John" and "Manuelito": I knew he'd return sometime, but I didn't think it'd be so soon. I assume he went off and joined the Dark Convention after getting expelled, so I'm curious as to what he'll be doing. Might he be involved with the aforementioned Mary Dearborn?

2) "Duel," which is as big as "magic." I'm not particularly surprised that dueling is relatively important, but it's still interesting to note.

3) "Quimley." Either she's going back to the Lands Below really quick (haha), or she'll remember him a lot for some reason.

4) "Livia." New character?

5) And the best for last: "Grue." Just...just no comment.
