I kind of binged a lot of serial killer criminology/true crime books in high school after I first read Silence of the Lambs. The main takeaway for me was how crappy the standard was for forensics and detective work were even in the late 20th century that these guys were able to get away with this crap for so long despite being by no means criminal masterminds.

Yes, women are still fascinated by his image, due to an unprecedentedly striking dissonance between his looks and the stuff he did - a vile beast behind the most attractive appearance one can imagine.

Doreen Lioy was a journalist.
Cindy Haden was on the jury.
And Richards victims ranged from six years old.
There is a lot of misinformation on Richard on the web.
