I remember when I read this book, I thought "I would've loved this when I was 13." Unfortunately I read it when I was around 18-19, so I mostly found it edgy in an uninteresting way.

LOL, I first read the book when I was 13 - perhaps that's why I loved it so much :-D

I wish I could put my finger on why I loved this book so much, or at least, one particular English translation. I have read a few different translations and there's a slight difference between all of them. One of the things I enjoyed about the book was that I could relate a lot to Mersault's introversion and observations of those around him.
